I've seen milk turn faster than Maguire
£80m for Maguire is just ludicrous money, I am all for backing a manager for his targets but it's deals like this which distort the market and make it impossible to sign players because all the selling clubs suddenly believe they can sell players for this kind of money.
Toby is 4 years older and not home-grown, can't really compare him to Maguire (who's got a contract until 2023 btw).

Manu always over pay - and this time they are in need of decent players. Maguire ki s a decent CB although slow to turn so cannot play a high line - but will be he best central defender at Manu so improves them.
Worthwhile if they are one of 4 teams (with Chelsea Woolwich and Wolves) for the last CL place after Mancity, Liverpool and Spurs take the other CL places.
Replaced at Leicester by Lewis Dunk for £45m so decent replacement with £35m change that they have already spent on Newcastle striker Perez for £30m
I rate Maguire, good CB's are difficult to find, and with PL and CL squad rules, English players are genuinely worth more, especially for the big clubs. If Joao Felix is worth 113M, it doesn't seem crazy to me that Maguire is worth 80M.
What DOES seem crazy is that clubs aren't lining up to pay 25M for Toby.
