Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Here’s the thing. We’ve apparently got this uber RCM, most people’s “player of the season” as Bazali Bazali keeps telling me, and we have this catastrophe of a RB. But guess what position we have prioritised above all others and smashed our transfer record upgrading this summer?

I’ll give you a clue, it wasn’t RB.
Come on man, you were once my fav poster. Always previously thought you had smart informative views from SC. We all know we already attempted to upgrade right back with Aurier, not to mention Ndombele has been chased from before last season.

Give it a break bus-conductor bus-conductor its getting boring. So you don't like Sissoko, it just so happens most of us changed our opinion on him last season and more importantly the club management like and trust him.
His end product is not always great but he does a job and does it well.
I didn't see Ndombele as a replacement for Sissoko but for Dembele and I think Sissoko and Ndombele will play together at times.

Honestly, there's no point in trying to reason with the outspoken ape. He's made his mind up, despite all evidence to the contrary. The waste of space simply won't admit he's in the wrong. Just learn to laugh at him and don't take him seriously...nobody else does!

CM was needed more.
We have 3x RB on our books, and 3 CMs at best including Dier.

Prioritising CM seemed to me by far the first logical step to take. It happened first most likely because it's not a 'chain' situation where we make ourselves look like wallys buying a 4th RB, then trying to shift 1 or 2.

It just wouldn't make any sense to me buying a 4th RB first. I'm sure it's still a position we would like to improve.

Another report...

And another...

It's getting to the end of the transfer window when lots of possible deals are in the air.

Some appear mad at first

Spurs need to resolve 2 players futures :
- Eriksen ( will he stay and sign another contract now all the signs are that Madrid cannot afford either Eriksen or Pogba) or does he want to move elsewhrre regardless (wherever that might be). And if Eriksen is moving then in addition to Lo Celso we want another AM and if Madrid are demanding a buy back clause ( rumoured) then Ceballos is not happening. So may be a deal of Toby going to Roma makes sense, but less money o top.
- Alderweireld, is he staying or. Going. can Roma afford his wages. Will someone pay his release clause and wages on a long term contract - Toby's agent has been hawking him found Europe without any real bites so far.

I suspect this is the first of various possible deals floated - mostl Will niot happen as they are. Found not to be in one or other club or players interest.

so enjoy the ride and wait until the cards eventually fall into place.

I wonder, do you think that might have had something to do with injuries to Wanyama, Winks and Dier plus Dembele going to China leaving us very short in central midfield and trying to make sure that doesn't happen again?

I agree that there are more important positions to fill.

Ndombele fills Dembele's spot. We're at least two other midfielders short (especially if Eriksen goes). Wanyama can't be counted on. Plus a Kane stand-in.

Leave RB and CB alone at least for this window.

Very likely player wants out. Zidane has not given him fair playing time before and wants buy back clause o any loan so that he can then be resold if successful on a loan.

However now Madrid have said Zidane cannot buy Eriksen or Pogba, Zidane wants to keep Ceballos but there is now a lack of trust between player and coach.

Only question is whether Ceballos will force his way out of Madrid. And whether Madrid then decide they need another Eriksen like midfield player.

As I have said it's end of transfer window and everybody trying to play their best cards !

I keep wondering about Real not being able to afford Eriksen....wouldn't Poch rather sell him cheap to a club he wishes to join rather than risk him sulking for a season then leaving for nothing ?? Just a thought...
