Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Money aside which should not be your concern as we have Daniel Levy, the signing of Jansen was a failure for the progress of our club as he was waste of space and he did f all on the field.
1- he never got a run in the first team. Who will when we have Harry Kane?
2- when he did get a game, we didn’t play to his strengths
3- he suffered with a bad injury
4- every single club makes signings that don’t work out for one reason or another
5- the financial well being of the club is of interest to me, not concern.

So I’ll post what I like if it’s all the same to you.

Interesting. So we really need to shift N'Koudou, if we don't have the intention of playing him, I assume we'll have to take a hit but always a risk with players...

Wanyama is a tricky one. Clearly he hasn't been right for a while, is there a chance he could be fixed this season? Is there even room for him with Dier, Sissoko, Winks, and Ndombele, Foyth could even play a little further forward if required...

Certainly preferable to shift him out, and he hasn't done well on loan so any sale deal will probably be the least worst option.

I'm no medic but he's not looked good for 2 years with his knees. Remember Sandro, ? Similar looking problem ?

Question is whether he can play again at a high PL level - and whilst he played a few games last season, the answer seemed to be a resounding 'no' .

He's been on his 3 week break since AFCON back next week, so suspect he an Poch will have a chat after a days training/medical check up.

But basis issue will be that if Wanyama is fit ( but personally doubt it,) who else goes if we want others iin - the ever injured Lamela ? Or do we not want/need any more non HG players

Jansen is not one who did not work out.
It is a risk when buying cheap and cheerful. Jansesn, Njie, Nkoudo.....etc.
There is no good news, he did not perform, he was bad at his job, simple.
Move on.

Plenty of clubs have bought players for big money who didn't work out.

Remember Andy Carroll who was ( I think) sold for the highest UK transfer fee whe going from Newcastle to Liverpool. Recently released from Wham but not that old.

Soldado wasn't cheap but didn't work out at Spurs - couldn't score ! And as striker that's pretty essential.

Well, yea. Lets now put 1+1 together (+add another one) -

- we are linked with Dybala
- Poch hinted about possible addition to attacking department in context of Parrott
AND
- Dybala is Argentinian (and as we all know well and clear, as Poch is too, we shall buy all the Argentinians!! :D )

It's all clear now, isn't it.
We are signing Dybala

:allitongue::allitongue::allitongue:

P.S A BIT MORE serious though - if it might be swap like Eriksen for Dybala - I would bite their hand off for such option. Considering Eriksen value now, vs Dybala value after signing long term contract with us... that would be some deal :D !

But Pochettino is waiting to find out if chairman Daniel Levy will complete any more signings before turning to 17-year-old forward Troy Parrott, who started in Spurs' pre-season win over Juventus on Sunday.

"He's still so young but we will see what happens at the end of the transfer market," said Pochettino.

"If we still have the squad we have today of course he's going to have the chance to be part of the first team."

Pochetitno reiterated he is not in control of signings at Tottenham, who have broken their transfer record to bring in £53.8m midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon this summer.

"Always the club signs players, not Mauricio," said Pochettino.

"Of course in that structure sometimes you have more important part in your opinion and sometimes not. We share the success, and when they fail always the manager is responsible.

Asked if there was any chance of Llorente re-joining Spurs, Pochettino added: "I'm not the person you need to ask."

What an amazing view. I can just imagine a Monterrey fan taking his little kid to his first match.

"Daddy, what's that big lump in the background called?"

"That's Janssen son, our new signing."

We bought a couple of shit strikers....but have a look at this lot...

I remember seeing some random stats that said that either Kane or Son had scored more goals for Spurs than all Wham strikers combined for the last decade had scored for West Ham.

Wonder if Daniel had a chat with them about Janssen ?

We've offered Llorente a one year contract, Poch knows this, if Llorente decides to accept it then there's your extra striker ... if not than we go with what we've got would be my take ....

If Llorente didn't take it I wondered whether we would bring in another goal scoring AM such as the much rumoured Dani Olmo for say £25m to free up Son whenever needed, as striker cover with a view that next summer it's likely Lamela will need to go as he'll be 28 and pretty much bottom choice of the 6 AMs. And by next summer Parrott at aged 18 will be a lot more ready to at least do cameos

Yes. None of those additions worked out.

But you have to look at it as a whole. With Dier and Dele it worked out better. Up to now it seems to go well with Foyth as well - all of them were risky young players for reasonably affordable prices.

Win some, lose some, all in all our transfer strategy has worked really well.

Why is no one coming in for Toby? It’s so strange. That 25M clause expires tomorrow... so very odd! I’m delighted frankly. If he signed a new 3 year deal and Eriksen did the same with a 90M buy out for European clubs kicking in next summer with Lo Celso and Sess coming in that would be pure ecstasy
