Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If Llorente didn't take it I wondered whether we would bring in another goal scoring AM such as the much rumoured Dani Olmo for say £25m to free up Son whenever needed, as striker cover with a view that next summer it's likely Lamela will need to go as he'll be 28 and pretty much bottom choice of the 6 AMs. And by next summer Parrott at aged 18 will be a lot more ready to at least do cameos
28?! Get his fucking zimmer

Why is no one coming in for Toby? It’s so strange. That 25M clause expires tomorrow... so very odd! I’m delighted frankly. If he signed a new 3 year deal and Eriksen did the same with a 90M buy out for European clubs kicking in next summer with Lo Celso and Sess coming in that would be pure ecstasy

25m plus he will probably want 10m a year and at least a two year contract, that's 45m on a player who will have zero value at the end of it ... not many clubs however wealthy will risk that on an over 30's player ....

We can offer him a big salary because we don't have to pay the 25m upfront ... if we pay him 120k a week plus bonuses pretty sure that's his best option, we can even chuck in a few million loyalty bonus .... costs us maximum 10m a year for an already established squad player ... make it so

Re your first sentence - Woolwich are the only leading club (say top 20) whose revenues shrank last year. Also beginning to lose a few sponsors.

So previous player purchases ( eg £50m player with a 5 year contract being paid for at £10m pa) which looked eminently financeable a few years ago have started to eat up all the available free cash flow in the next few years so it's difficult to buy new players.

They won't get out of that mess until they can offload a few high earners who aren't earning their keep....,

Think they will need to battle Manu Chelsea and possibly Wolves to grab ,4th spot. Not sure that one player like Ceballos will achieve that especially as their defence is their week area, especially as their captain and CB is jumping ship
Good article by Swiss ramble on Woolwich finances. They are not in a great position financially.

Aurier probably won't be seen till September or even October because he's picked up yet another hamstring. The guy's becoming a proper sicknote.

KWP looks woefully short of the physical demands of PL football.

Foyth is our best hope but still unproven.

If we don't sign a RB we could be facing a season of makeshift right backs like Dier, Sissoko, Alderweireld or Sanchez. It could be our undoing.
3 at the back with KWP at right wing back. I think we can get away with that. Not so sure of him at right back.. Foyth susp for first 2 games. If Aurier inj thats what I think we will do.

With the £5 million loan we got when he was in turkey, that’s not the worst gamble the club ever took. Didn’t work out, we lost £7 million plus his wages. Is it a tax deductible loss?
Best of luck to the lad. I hope he reignites his career and goes on to be very successful.
I think I’m right in saying that the way player amortisation works is that if he was signed for 17m on a 4 year contract, his value on the books will drop by approx 4m per year. So that 12 off his value leaving him worth 5m . Sold for a bit more than that so we’ve made a profit. I’m no accountant but i’ve seen this explained on sites before. Seems ridiculous to say we have made a profit . Feel a bit sorry for him as he always appeared to be trying his best but obvious he was just not good enough.

Certainly preferable to shift him out, and he hasn't done well on loan so any sale deal will probably be the least worst option.

I'm no medic but he's not looked good for 2 years with his knees. Remember Sandro, ? Similar looking problem ?

Question is whether he can play again at a high PL level - and whilst he played a few games last season, the answer seemed to be a resounding 'no' .

He's been on his 3 week break since AFCON back next week, so suspect he an Poch will have a chat after a days training/medical check up.

But basis issue will be that if Wanyama is fit ( but personally doubt it,) who else goes if we want others iin - the ever injured Lamela ? Or do we not want/need any more non HG players
the way prices are these days we will prob get 10m plus for Victor. Even with dodgy knees. His main asset was his power but seems to have gone. Got pushed off the ball a lot last season. Sad but what can you do. Looking at Skipp in the Juve game Victor won’t get many games.

As far as I can see he’s irreparably damaged and it must be apparent to the other teams as well.

I just can’t see us getting much value out of him.
