He'd be a lovely little signing to make. Smart business even if it contradicts our philosophy of not developing other players teams for them. I admire it but it's foolish to cut off supplies to shit hot young players at clubs that are bigger who could help us grow.

Hakimi at Real Madrid/ Borussia Dortmund, Alena at Barcelona, both could and would have added value. Instead of getting Hakimi in we have persisted with the permanent flop that is Aurier. Madness seeing us continue to fog a dead horse, even if his performances have improved a little as he still isn't good enough.

I've watched the first half of Zenit vs Leipzig and based off of it I have solved our LB and DM issues. We need to get Barrios (yes, the meme) in to be our DM and also the Zenit LB Douglas Santos. Dude is running that left flank.

Watching Upemcamo for Lepzig the lad is the business! I;d say the big boys will be in for him this summer - Gonna be an absolute star! Kid has it all.

having him and Sanchez next season would be the tits!

Apparently the scum were sniffing around for Upemcamo...

People still over looking the issue
Or, some that are focused on the 'issue' are still missing the point. And apparently have made that a habit because they missed the point previously when things weren't so bad.

Every single one of our players will look good when they leave this club.
Or if they stay and we get a new manager
Or, many of our players have been given profiles beyond what their individual ability would garner because they were performing within a functioning team...a team often described as being greater than the sum of its parts. Amirite? During that time who deserved credit for that performance?

Without a functioning team you see players for their individual qualities and for us that's not a great thing. If an observer saw Dele banging in weekly 30 yarders in their mind then it would be understandable to assume the player has regressed and it's the managers fault. But if the astute observer realized Dele was a technically deficient player then and still is now but without the crack-papering goals then they would lean toward the player not being good enough.

What I'm saying is your premise was wrong then and now and your conclusion is wrong. Many of the players could and should have been improved upon and never were. Few will go on to new heights beyond what they have already 'achieved' here and that will be dependent on where they end up so cannot reasonably be considered solely a function of their ability. I have come to understand you and your thoughts/posting so you'll do it anyway and tell us about it every 5 minutes when it suits.

The team has been gutted of the things that made us dangerous, a rock CM2 and 2 flying FBs (1 being so physically gifted and dominant that he shut down a whole side of the pitch except for a brainfart every now and again). Everyone benefited from this and was made to look much better due to the work of these unsung heroes. If Poch is to be faulted then not recognizing what actually made us tick is where I would start. It's not Harry's goals, or Eriksen's 'intelligence' ( bus-conductor bus-conductor ) that actually doesn't work when space isn't there, or Dele's whatever the hell anyone saw that made us click.

It was the grunt work that made it 10-20% easier for these players to do what they do best but can't do when it's 100% on their shoulders. This happens on every team in every team sport in all the world. Only few players can create their own magic and we have none, not a 1. I'm not advocating for this type of player though. What I am saying is stop overrating our players and by extension utilizing it as a stick with which to beat Poch. A new manager will have the same problems.

This is a massive oversimplification. What makes teams good generally(and made us good) is balance and blend. Grunt is nothing without brains. Brains needs the grunt. And we also had the energy of the youngest legs in the league for three years - our best three years - running. And you need to be able to impart and extract a cohesive collective ethos from all those parts.
