Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We finally act like a big club and show a bit of ruthlessness and a bit of bollox and its not good enough for half our fan base.

Did you all want us to continue to drift rudderless? with more of the same shit being served up week on week?

Mourinho is a winner, I don't give a fuck if he's a cunt, he's going to be our cunt and he's going to be a hungry cunt who wants to prove himself again after the Man Utd failure, a hungry cunt that is going to win us trophies.
And he will be hated by Woolwich and Chelsea and even Liverpool and City fans, and I will absolutely love it.

This is a turning point we have gone from a club happy to compete to a club that wants to win. You should be happy.

They mean they're not as important as the champions League or competing to win the PL. It's easier to win those two trophies and shouldn't be a benchmark of the quality of the team or playing style. Competing at the highest level and playing attractive football means more to me than parking the bus and winning the EL. The EL lost its prestige when it changed format.

Respectively disagree. This team needs some silverware if it's going to really progress.

Need to win something to learn that winning mentality.

Jose, with all of his experience, should help take us to the next level

Had much more fun when it went off wood gates nose and in the net and beat the Chelsea scum. Then went faces and had a great night out.

Also went Madrid and watched us lose.

It’s a fine balance, but on the whole, I’d rather us win trophies.

That being said I will support him fully if he's appointed as I'm TTID. I hope he does instill that winning mentality as it hasn't been there. Maybe that's what they're trying to bring in. I hope Jose has learnt from his time out how these new style managers play and can put his own spin on it. He's a pretty smart dude.

Would you rather us win the fa cup, and EL and never have CL nights again or win the PL? Genuine question. We have to aim high in my opinion. The joy of winning those 'lesser' cups are a great feeling but ultimately I want our club to be aiming to win the biggest competitions.

Fair question.

Those are only cup competitions in England. I don’t see why winning those would not assist us with building a winning mentality to help us in the likes of the CL.

I want us to win everything. However, we haven’t won’t diddly squat in many a year, so the odd cup to help us on our way wouldn’t be far a miss imo. 👌

The glass half full me is thinking we could be getting a rejuvenated Mourinho with a point to prove and hoping Levy takes this opportunity to sort out some of other issues, mainly a DOF and recruitment.

Or it is going to be a fucking shit show.

If Mourinho happens and it looks very likely now, I'm calling it here and now. He is going to light a fire under us, I can see us getting back into the top 4 this season, the timing of this has given us that opportunity before it went too far, and if he gets two fullbacks in January (which is all that is missing for me) I can see us going a long way in the CL and possibly even winning it.

Sticking my neck out early on this one.

I'm very interested to see what brand of football he intends to play. He's never been one for flying fullbacks. Could we see a new style of Jose? I hope so.

Nope. United appointed Mourinho the same Summer City appointed Guardiola. Both teams had ageing squads needing rejuvenating. Look at the difference between the two teams now.

You say if he wins us trophies it improves the mentality of the club. Nonsense. If we win a lucky Carabou Cup or Europa League as he did at United but are playing shit football week in week out, spluttering along in the league, will you honestly be happy with that?

Him being ex chav is most certainly not the only reason I don't want him, it merely added a cherry to the cake.

Mourinho has been finished as a top level manager since Guardiola arrived with his pressing style of football, which brought rise to a new wave of coaches who followed this style which completely destroyed the pragmatic, reactive style of football played by Mourinhos generation of managers.

I admire your optimism mate, I genuinely do, but theres only one way this appointment will end and that is in tears.

United and City are incomparable, one club has the ghost of an ex manager hanging over it and a recruitment policy so shambolic it makes you question the sanity of the owners and the other has a clear vision of what they want to achieve and they have the people behind the scenes capable of doing so.

Mourinho won trophies despite United being poorly run, he also finished 2nd with that same exact team and under those same conditions.

And yes, it's been over a decade since we last won a trophy and in recent years we have made a habit of failing at the final hurdle, it has become a trend with us to the point that many of our supporters go into finals expecting to lose, we are known as artists in failure, winning trophies will change the entire mentality of the club, it will give our supporters that much needed belief that we can finally compete and we really have made the next step.

Also, winning as many trophies as Mourinho has is not luck, he has a talent for it, indisputable imo.

As far as the style of football being played, I will say this, I prefer the Klopps and Peps of the world because they play a more attacking brand of football but that doesn't mean it's the only effective way to be successful or that Mourinhos brand of football is now shit in comparison.

Look, Poch had to go regardless, Mourinho will either succeed or fail with us but the reality is the owners are definitely showing ambition bringing that calibre of manager in and that bodes well for our future.

I also think Mourinho will sort the gutless from the brave in the dressing room which is something that is sorely needed imo.

I also think he has a point to prove which makes him dangerous.

Mourinho is a great manager there's no doubt about it. He's won the lot and against a lot of the odds too. He's always won trophies wherever he's gone even at Man Utd where in reality he did better than he should have and should have been given more time.

I don't understand the apathy at all
