Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Eriksen looked happy enough before the game. Based on nothing, I think he and Jose have made their peace. He’ll make the odd run out when there’s a need for a top-class midfielder with a creative eye, but he’s done for Spurs - he’s running down the clock, but will make the effort if asked.

Sad, really, like those films where there’s an extra ten-minutes after the main story ends. (Like Poch after the CL final).

I think Eriksen not even getting playing time today must mean mourinho knows he has a contract agreed with a another club possibly real madrid as the rumors are saying right now, and are going to announce it in january officially, when it's legal for him to do so as a free agent in the summer.
Thanks for everything Eriksen i won't forget all the goals and assist you were involved in and have a nice life and a good career.

His career will go downhill fast when he leaves us, would be very surprised if Madrid are interested.

Why would RM pay 30m in Jan when they could just wait a handful of months to get him for free?

Seems like a bit of a non-story to me.
All depends how RM are doing in the Liga fight. Barca aren't the force they were, neither are Real. If Real think he could make the difference and give them the edge over Barca they will do it.

He's gone and to be perfectly honest with you I'm not too bothered. I love Eriksen, both as a Tottenham fan and as a dane, but I feel like we're stacked in his position and him leaving, I think, will allow Dele to realize his insane potential

I don't agree we're stacked in his position.
The tragedy is Levy has adopted a hard line position regarding transfers and is prepared to take a massive hit on Eriksen and maybe even Toby and Verts.

Quicker the better.....

I don't really like slagging off our players, but Eriksen did himself no favours. He doesn't want to be here anymore and has been unprofessional about it. It's a shame it ends this way, but like you said, the quicker, the better...

Because as we all know players are slaves who Levy can force to sign new contracts at his whim ... oh wait a minute that's just not true is it ... some people are simply clueless.

Eriksen and his team have been offered countless new contracts since 2016, they have rejected each and every one, that's his right he wants a fresh challenge ... for all concerned this would be better to happen in January, pretty sure Jose has already written him off as a starter, he will just use and abuse him as required.

We should have sold him and got as much as we can.

Oh well.... bye Eriksen. I reckon he will last about 2 to 3 years before he gets bumped out of Madrid.

Levy gets slagged off for selling players, and then when he refuses and instead holds on to them hoping they'll win something he gets slagged off for that. There's simply no winning with some people.

Eriksen literally said before he even arrived that he would be leaving eventually. He made no disguise over his desire to exploit his footballing ability to provide him many different experiences. His time with us has ended, so be it. He's a good, but frustratingly inconsistent and never quite world class footballer. I've enjoyed having him at Spurs, think he'd probably be more successful with Juve.

The plan to just keep a whole team full of underpaid players forever was a really, really misguided one.

It reflected a (not entirely unfounded) lack of confidence in our ability to turn a king's ransom into new stars.

Transfer market dealings, in and out, are just an inherent part of modern football. Smart clubs are figuring out how to make that work for them.

I would imagine Levy has taken note. He is many things, but he is not a fool. I liked our past summer, with two players who should feature prominently and two with an eye toward the future. The appointment of Jose seems to indicate a shift to raised standards and greater urgency to win now, as opposed to build for the future. I think it likely our transfer/new contract strategy will shift to match. One can hope, at any rate.

Although I get your point, underpaid for kicking a football around is a bit silly.

He’s been offered contracts with more money. And nobody came in for him or the other wantaways in the summer. That’s quite telling.

Out out out out out NOW and do not play him ever again whilst he's still here.

Never seen such a big wimp like Chris. Really disappointed in him. He can go and fill up the Real Madrid bench if he wants to.
