I still think that quote is true (despite coming under a lot of scrutiny). It's clearly easier to stop goals than to score them (shot to goal ratio proves this). With 10 minutes to go, opponents in the ascendancy (as they say) and no striking options, you can play for a point/replay by playing defensive or trust blind luck and throw on a wildcard.
