Tits all over the gaff.

And Leicester had a better squad than Man Utds treble winners too? Got more points in a Premier League season after all.

I see how it works.
Aside from Vdv and Modric, AVB's squad was better imo. That's all I'm saying.

I don't think it's a ridiculous statement to say our squad was very good in 13/14, although admittedly not mature enough to win titles.

Hypothetically, yes. It's a good side.

At the time, it was a team full of players who people wanted replacing (Walker, Rose, Dembele, Chadli), were happy to see leave as they didn't care about the club (Vertonghen, Adebayor) but had promise (Eriksen, Lloris)

It wasn't until 2 years later that people started to think of Walker and Rose as decent players, Dembele as a key player and Vertonghen as one of the best and most consistent centre backs in the league.

And I still think the main reasons for most of those (certainly Walker and Rose) was Poch's system as opposed to ability.

2 years is a long time in football.

I mean yes at the time I don't think we thought they were superior

But our emotional bond with the VdV/Modric group probably made us overrate them. Aside from those two, who'd really get into the Poch teams?

I'm just saying, the difference is very small. It's not as if Redknapp's team was obviously better.

I thought we were talking about Sherwoods squad?

King, Parker, Modric, van der Vaart all get into that team. Maybe even the fit Sandro from Redknapps final season.

Walker, Rose and Adebayor keep their spots (from Redknapps team) - so that's 4 players and 3 that was already in Redknapps squad.

So really, only Eriksen, Lloris, Vertonghen and Dembele probably get into Redknapps. And even then Dembele (from Sherwoods season) is a big IF.

Mourinho actually publicity stated today:

“ we have nothing to lose!”

He really needs to GO already! :roseunsure:

Levy could bring any top manager in and 99% of them will say this squad ain’t good enough.
So what's that say about most of the supporters when 90%+ thought they were all the way up to Poch getting fired? Some are still fighting the good fight and think things will be ok with Sonny and Harry coming back. And even Mou said it himself which is probably why he went against his pattern and took a team midseason (always a bad move).

King in his final years could barely walk, let alone play regularly

Parker ahead of Dembele/Capoue/Paulinho is debatable

Imo only Modric and VdV are better than their Sherwood counterparts.
