Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

OK, I'm just gonna say it... this might not be popular, but here goes:

Jose's 'trick' was to get everyone to fall in love with him, and secretly fancy him... YES, I mean players, the Media, women, men... HE SUDUCED the footballing world with his Mediterranean good looks, and swauve demeanour....
Like a good looking predatory sex offender, he got away with it for years....

But now the looks are ageing, the hair is all wrong, and the cheeky smile with hidden meaning doesn't fool anyone!

Jose is a spent force, but can't quite admit the authorities are onto him!

Why would you not take history into account?! That’s PRECISELY how you judge a potential managerial candidate.

And when we are boring, negative and lack an attacking identity, it isn’t hard to fit the overriding narrative. It’s true!

But people aren't using history to judge a potential manager, they are ignoring what is actually happening and using Jose's history as the reason and that is BS.

This Spurs team had issues creating chances and with their passing since the 2nd half of last season when Erisksen started pouting and wanting out. That has nothing to do with Jose. Honestly we had those issues even when Erisksen was happy because if he wasn't in the line-up we struggled.

So to now have people complain that Spurs are struggling because Jose is a dinosaur when those issues have existed long before he got here is BS. We aren't struggling because Jose is a dinosaur we are struggling because outside of GLC (who has now replaced Eriksen) and Kane we have little to know creativity. We have few too many players that can make even simple passes or move the ball quickly up the field so that every one of our attacks takes so long to build up that teams are back by the time we get close to the box.

This is a player issue not a Jose is a dinosaur with poor tactics issue, it is an issue that has existed long before he got here and one that will continue to exist as long as we have players like Winks, Sissoko, Aurier, Davies, Dier, Sanchez, Lamela, Moura, Son in the line-up and Sessegnon, Fernandes and Skipp on the bench to replace them.

He just isn't used to or comfortable with managing a bunch of useless turds masquerading as premier league footballers

He is a manager that needs top players

The most pointless managerial appointment we could have possibly made

But that is Enic and Levy all over isnt it

Every single player involved for Spurs tonight is a full international. The starting 11 had over 600 caps between them. Only 3 outfield players are 30+ (and they were probably our best players (not Sissoko)so age wasn’t an issue tonight). They look like they have never played together before and that is on Jose. Absolutely woeful performance
Players weren’t interested. Only Gio and Tanguy tried to take the game by the neck - maybe even Davies - and Kane our a shift in.
I’m not including Coco as he was completely feral.

Problem I have is there is no direction
His only tactic seems to be to improve the defense , a defense which we would've lost with had Lloris not make a BIG save.
There's no attacking chemistry or ideas.

However I feel like Mourinho was always going to be short term and I don't really want him here much longer messing things up at the club. Much rather a Mikel Arteta type manager who has a good brand of football and a project like Poch. Will we even get success with these jurassic tactics ,nope.

United have taken a year to recover from Mourinho but they have near enough the same players
+ Bruno , Maguire , Wan-Bissaka and they are playing MUCH MUCH better.
You mention the save by Hugo, yet fail to mention the blatant pen we should have been given.

Agenda?

“Ignoring what is happening?! It’s the first time in 5 years a team haven’t had a shot on target against Bournemouth. That’s far from ignoring what’s happening. We are literally commenting on what is happening now.

Are you suggesting we don’t have the creativity in our side to have a shot on target against Bournemouth?

This is the problem, your comments may be fair if we had that performance against a good side. But this is Bournemouth! The excuses are beyond ridiculous.

Listening to his post-match interview. Bullshit excuses. Tied players, etc. Wish a journalist would ask him how come your team couldn't manage a single motherfucking shot on goal against one of the most porous defences in the league?

Poch was worn down after 5 years of punching above our weight and let down by Levy. Levy just made an abysmal choice of his sucessor.

People whine about the supposed excuses for Mourinho, but these players get all sorts of excuses to explain away their terrible play.

I would love to see a line-up with the current roster that people honestly think would be close to top 4 under this "progressive" manager.

We are at minumum 4 starters short of being at the top 4 level and probably need more than that.

We were in the top 4 12 months ago. We do need players and i agree we're not top 4 now but we are not as bad as we've shown since Chelsea at home. I've been supporting the club for 45 years and i'm struggling to think of any run of 25 or so games on the spin when we've looked this abject. Maybe under Gerry Francis at the end. We looked better under Sherwood and AVB on occasions than this.

What excuses???

Based on what we saw obviously this side is not creative enough because they just went out there and showed that they weren't. They weren't held back in any way by the manager. There was not a single thing the manager did that stopped them from getting a shot on net. That was 100% the players.

Again when Moura was running untouched into the box and just lost the ball is that on the manager? Was it Jose's management that caused that to not be a shot on target or a goal? When Moura refused to pass to a wide open Son was that Jose's management?

When Sissoko and Winks were unable to make simple forward passes was that Jose's management?

When the great Ndombele came on and couldn't make a single pass to Kane or Son to spring them was that on Jose's management?

Was it Jose's management that had VAR disallow the clear penalty?

If these players need a manager to come to create chances for them against Bournemouth then we are in major trouble.

We backed our way into the top four last year. You want a run of 25 (or close to it) games where we looked this bad take a look at our run from the end of December until Poch was fired, it looked very similar to this.
