Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

King would be the other option from Bournemouth, other than Wilson.

Plays more of a winger/striker that might suit us when Kane plays, is HG and contract until 2021 I believe, so one year left and Bournemouth either need to tie him down to a new contract (as otherwise he walks for free in 12 months time) or they sell this summer. For Bournemouth 47 goals in 157 PL appearances so a 1 goal in 3 appearances player.

What do you think of Hans Hateboer (Atalanta) 26 year old Dutch international, 2 years left on his contract but been quoted as saying he would be happy to leave (Spurs also linked with his RB/LB back up) ? Rmoured available at circa £20m

For a longer term solution, you might want to monitor Dermi Lusala , 17 year old, in Spurs academy. Probably not for 20/21 but season after as back up RB.

Not that I’m impressed with Hateboer to be honest. meh.

Problem is we have the numbers but seemingly no quality.

When do we get round to selling players?

ESPN have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could open talks to extend captain Hugo Lloris’ contract at the club in the ‘coming months’ despite two years remaining on the World Cup winner’s current deal.

Jose's short-termism coming to the fore.

Hugo has been great since the restart, but utterly woeful before it. He should have a genuine challenger for his position.

Lets see which of our rivals buy him ?

Liverpool couldn't even pay Werner's 52m buy out.
Thought that was a really weird line to draw for Liverpool, However, a lot of their recent transfer activity has been driven by player sales, so maybe with the uncertain financial climate its not a complete shocker. On the other hand, they certainly have the revenue to support it as they are now only behind City and United.

Liverpool have been getting 9/10 player decisions right for about 4-5 years, so you can either look at that and say they know what they are doing or that they are due a few duds.

I could be wrong, but everything I've read and listened to suggested Liverpool very much wanted Werner but couldn't commit to the fee (which I think was required in one payment to effect the release clause - but I might have that wrong) due to the losses from the current situation. I read (or listen to a pod) they even asked Werner to wait a couple of months for them to try and figure it out.

I think he would have suited their quick transition system better than he'll suit Lampard's (non system ?) more laborious patterns of play, especially if he's thinking of playing him as a pure 9, but time will tell I guess.

Maybe we will buy a genuine challenger but it certainly makes sense to keep him for now as we don't have that much money to spend.

I usually massively agree on well scouted players. But opportunistic signings shouldn’t be sniffed at too (unless it’s another sissoko).
if they turn out to be not good enough, they could cost us a CL place and the managers job, I know the same can be said for scouted signings but at least there is a process there.

Who would you buy (cost say less than say £25m/£30m ) to be first choice RB ?

Aarons ? But not sure he's bettter than KWP, just with more experience
Pereira ? We should have bought him rather than Aurier, but not sure Leicester would want to sell
Castagne ? RB/LB at Atalanta and seen as Hatebor back up as welll as LLB back up
Baldock ? Not sure Sheffield United want to sell and at 27 might be older than perfect.
Bogle ? 19 year old from Derby. Bit inexperienced but potential. Not sure Derby want to sell
Smith ? Ask him if he wants to return from a relegated Bournemouth ? Now 29, might be an interim allowing 17 year old Dermi Lusala a year to make his first team debut and take the RB position in 2 years

Who has caught your eye ?

No but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be scouted like any other player.

...But we've talking about player(s) whom the club likely have a working knowledge of anyway given we've played B'Muff twice a year for the past 5.

Anyway, we were rumoured to have been interested in the past; perhaps we've seen enough previously....

I'd go to Bayern and take Christian Fruchtl on a two year loan as our No.2 and with the promise of first team football if he shows he's worthy. No risk, low cost and the chance to turn up an uncut gem.
