I would think skipp wouldn’t get a lot of minutes because Fulham are in the PL now, or does SP rate him THAT highly to be a starter in the PL already?

I would hope there would be some sort of agreement or discussion on the role he would play. Obviously Fulham could change this and just sit him but it seems a little pointless for them to do that at the least and harmful to their chances of getting other players in the future at the worst. Not sure how much they would care about that, but I can't see the point of them working out a loan deal for a player only to have him sit.

With Leeds and Jack Clarke I think the big issue was they had too many loan players so chose to play the other loanees rather than him. Fulham would not have that issue.

Ndombele under Poch was being carefully integrated into the first team whilst adjusting to the pace of the premier league,
That was Poch's achille's heel, he was always demanding more time so players could 'fulfill their potential' or understand his "vision" or come to terms with his "philosophy". We had seasons of "I have a plan" but nothing (apart from a CL final appearance) actually materialised.
Read that statement you made again, how many top teams in the premiership buy players with a view to them being "carefully integrated into the first team whilst adjusting to the pace of the premier league".

I mean seriously what the fuck does that mean and if it is actually a reality then what's the average time scale for someone to be 'carefully integrated' ??

Sorry but it's absolute bollocks.

I like Lamela as much as the next man, a decent squad option, but to say he hasn't had a chance to show what he can do is ridiculous, no matter how many minute-based stats you show. He's our 3rd (?) longest serving player now after Lloris and Kane.

Mourinho has all the history and info on Lamela at Spurs he could possibly need.
If you're saying you prefer Lamela over Bergwijn, fair enough, but the latter really hasn't had enough time to get settled compared to Lamela.

I prefer Lamela over Berg,Lucas and Dele . Those 3 are very greedy Lamela is more of a team man. His work rate is superb I would just like to see him fit and be the player he was at Roma. I genuinely believe him and Kane could work superb together if Lamela was played just behind him. They keep playing him on the wing but he was not a winger when we brought him he was a number10 playing just off Totti. He was superb but he came injured and has been played out of position but did not sulk just tried to adjust and give 100%

I love Lamela, but it's not a good sign when a player's biggest strength is his work ethic. I love watching him come in and be a little shit and press but he is so inconsistent at creating actual goals. So many times he dribbles....and dribbles.....and dribbles....and just never makes the pass or creates a shot.

He is a good player at times but we should absolutely move on at this point.

Fot me Lamela would fit perfectly in the Eriksen position, where he would create something and is allowed to be more slow. Also would be very nice have a player pressing in that position. But can't see him ahead of anyone in other positions. I would give a try for a trio of AM with Son-Lamela-Berg.

His goal involvement per 90 is as good or better than anyone in our squad not named Kane, Son or Eriksen.

This post isn't me advocating for Bale to Spurs (although I'm not opposed to it).

But his situation at RM is the most absurd shit ever.

It's so funny how him enjoying a round of golf is part of every news story. Like they take it personally that he'd rather play golf then travel and sit on the bench knowing he's again not going to play. We can sit around and argue if his behaviour or attitude is appropriate but the fact is Real Madrid is the reason this situation exists, if you're going to give a guy that kind of contract you can't expect him to agree to terminate it just because you don't want to honor it. It's like a smokescreen, it's not our fault, it's Golf!

The problem i think we have is we can't afford top quality and Mourinho just doesnt trust younger or more unproven players so we don't seem interested in the value we could get this summer. So its seems a compromise of pretty average mid 20's, just about do a job, players like Celik. Hope i'm wrong but it all feels a bit Gerry Francis/ George Graham type links at the moment
Of course we can afford top quality. Do you know how much ENIC is worth? Joe Lewis alone is worth more than 4 billion. God knows what the company is worth? If they were really serious about Spurs future, it would be a drop in the bucket to buy and pay the players we really need.
There is only one conclusion I, personally, can draw from this. As long as we're bringing in a steady income, nothing will be spent, even though to improve the team and get back into the CL, its financial implications are too long term for them. There is no pride in owning Spurs. Just some income. And that's the situation we're presently in.

That's the position I see him but he is always out on the wing. I remember him coming back from s long term injury we were drawing he was brought on and with his second touch set up Kane I think to get us going . That was from the number 10 spot .He offers something we need but he will be sold or just be a sub know matter what he does

OK, fair enough, you want the manager to pick Lamela more. He's proven what he's able to do for years, that's not the issue.

I barely recall Lamela stuck out on the wing, he's usually in a highly congested area a few metres in front of the opposition box. Which ironically, I agree is his best position.

The same criticism could be leveled at Lucas and Sonny and Dele.

Utter drivel as usual.

As a medical man you're bizarrely lacking concern for evidence and awfully prone to confirmation bias and hearsay, aren't you?

Long term planning? Constant and considerable growth + the last 4 years in the CL and a new stadium is all just a result or cost-dodging and short-termism is it?

When was your "time off" from supporting us, Doc? 90s and early 2000s I'm guessing.... You clearly haven't got the stomach for the tougher times.

Yeh - but Levy wants the club to be self-supporting. Just because Lewis can afford to buy players, doesn’t mean he has to. There’s a great bit in ‘Sunderland Til I Die’ when the new owners are looking at the books and see the old way of budgeting: ‘buy stuff and then send the bill to some guy in America’...there is no duty for Lewis / Levy / Kroenke / Abramovich to use their own money to pay for a club - if anything, that’s the outdated model left over from a different time when clubs were the toys of wealthy owners.
There’s so much money in elite football that they have to be run as a business: and they are - as someone posted the other day - shit businesses because they just absorb money. And - as City have seen, as Leeds saw, as everyone posts about Jose at Utd - money doesn’t guarantee the success...

Couldn't remember, but before that injury that cost him the season he got 5 goals and 9 assists in 28 games in the EPL. That's pretty good numbers.
