Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The player who was dropped for Dier as soon as his ban ended? I don't think so.

It's an odd one.... With Davs quality on the ball being his main whipping point, you'd think that wouldn't be such a big issue for Jose.

I still think we've handled Dav badly.....He was young enough to mold when we bought him and had a massive upside, yet whever he gets a good run of form under his belt he gets dropped; often not due to his own fault.

Dier is fairly below average as a central defender..,the drop looks more like a case of the coach demanding more in training from Davinson rather than Dier replacing him from the Starting XI permanently.

He has made the odd mistake or two but Davinson Sanchez is definitely the future and this is transfer fee well spent

Levy is right when he says that spending big doesn't mean winning. Everton, United and West Ham have spent big in recent years, Fulham got relegated after spending £100m. It's not that simple.

We need to buy the right players, that is where we have gone wrong. With our limited resources we cannot spend almost £100m on an injured Sessegnon and a flabby Ndombele and have them do nothing for a whole season. We have to stop getting fleeced, I hope Bergwijn and PEH are the start of a more sensible transfer strategy. Two good players with potential for a reasonable price. I will be happy if we make 2 or 3 more signings like that and leave the massively risky mega-signings to other clubs.

All our successes in the transfer market have come from the under £25m category, Modric, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Dier, Trippier, Son, Toby, Jan, Lloris, etc we all got great value from them. Every single player who cost more than that has struggled.
Stop trying to make a rational point! That's not what we do here!!!

Realistically we should be looking at a window like this:

IN:
Højbjerg
Hart
Celik
Rakitic
Wilson
Cavani
Thiago
Thiago Silva
Messi
Ronaldo
Lewandowski
Aarons
Castagne
Bale
Modric
Eriksen
Doherty
Dybala
Kimmich
Neuer
Havertz
Sabitzer
Mbappe
Neymar
Skriniar
Upamecano
White
Pereira
Ndidi

OUT:
No one, we need depth.

I think that’s reasonable. Get them in before the season starts and we’re good to go.

Anything less than this and we’ll end up doing a Leeds I’m afraid.

What can we offer that the Chavs can't?

Also, probably a lot easier for him to get in their team than ours.
they are signing Thiago Silva (not to sit on the bench)
Sarr gets to work with Mourinho (he is >1.8m tall, surely Mourinho rates him for a start) and has more of a chance of playing for us than at Chelsea especially with Toby on his last legs and the coach aiming to compete for trophies

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara shed some interesting light on recent rumours circulating regarding the Rossoneri’s mercato.

Massara then addressed the rumours that Aurier could arrive from Spurs.

“There are many names that are linked to us. Aurier is an excellent player, but at the moment there are no conditions to think about him. He is not a target.”
