Doherty is perfect to play as an offensive FB. Under Jose, Maicon, Coentrão and Ivanovic have all played in this position. Respectively, Chivu, Arbeloa and Azpilicueta (a LB in Jose's second tenure at Chelsea) played the more conservative role on the opposite side - the "Ben Davies" role.
My only problem with the lopsided system is that it needs Son to maintain the width on the left, and I think he’s far more effective when he drifts into central areas than sticking on the left. Hopefully they’ve been working on outside to inside runs with him.I think that we will be playing the same lopsided system that we did last season but with Doherty playing the aurier role. It suits a RWB in my opinion even though it’s not a standard back 3 it does function as one in possession.
This link only makes me more certain that there is no magic 433 system waiting in the wings for Jose, it will just simply be what it was last season with some upgrades in personnel.
Hope I am wrong though as I think it makes us quite predictable going forward.
Hmmmm Doherty is a way better attacking rb then he is defensive. Thats why i think he is more a wing back then a RB.Doherty would be a good pickup to play against the better teams as he’s a really solid defender but I’m not sure how much he’s going to add to our attack. Is there a player we can target to play against park the bus teams? KWP would’ve been perfect for those games actually.
Thiago contract has just one year left, that's why. And 15 milion for Doherty is very cheap but can't explain why. Maybe of this guy![]()
I’ve heard this, but when was the last time Wolves played a back four? By very nature of being a WB he’s gonna be doing less defending and caught out of position sometimes.Hmmmm Doherty is a way better attacking rb then he is defensive. Thats why i think he is more a wing back then a RB.
Chilwell isn't anything special to be honest.
Certainly not worth £50,000,000.
I'm sure people just see 'NEW SIGNING' and '50 MILL' and get depressed it wasn't us wasting money on an average player.
I can understand people getting upset over Werner and Ziyech (even though we have Kane and Son) - but Chillwell, really?
Clearly you haven't taken your medication today. I suggest you take your Lithium, lie down and allow your BP to lower itself. Otherwise Spurs may lose a loyal supporter.Oh noooo, today Sun, Daily Mail and other shit-papers that BBC lists on their gossip page have not had time to draw some shit about Spurs out of thin air today. What a dissapointment. We have failed as a club. Levy should resign and all of the backroom staff has to be laid off like right now.
No made up gossip about us for whole day and other teams are MENTIONED!! can you imagine, they are MENTIONED!! Who wouldn't trade places immidiately with Leicester?!? In gossip column it is mentioned that Vardy will prolong the contract and their scouts are following 17yo lad from Scotland. Can you even IMAGINE how much stronger they automatically are because of such immense steps forward. And even Fulham will without a doubt finish ahead of us - I mean it's clear - after all they were mentioned in gossip column because they dropped out of race for one Championship player and are trying to sign another Championship player.
Losing to Bayern 2:7 is nothing compared to this mess! Cannot believe it has happened.
Come on guys, now or never, let's all camp out at NWHL, someone has to pay for this!!!

They had around £180m in sales in the bank. Really, like it always does for them, the transfer ban, selling Hazard, it all ends up working out for them, giving them cash in a depressed market.Chelsea busy smashing this window
Add Silva and Havertz and it’s proof FFP is an utter shameless joke

Because if Davies is tucking in we’ll leave the left wing wide open if not.
Hazard - 100m
This is probably the biggest problem I have with it.Because if Davies is tucking in we’ll leave the left wing wide open if not.
All the home grown players at Chelsea need first team football now if they are going to stay. And what the hell did Mount, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi, etc do wrong to get pushed out of the team?
That has to be destabilizing for a dressing room.
Call me old fashioned but i'd rather play a flat 4 and either play 433 or 4231 and ensure creative/attacking impetus from both central and wide areas..... Particularly 433 becoming an aggressive 4123 (inc. 2 creative CMs) when in possession.
