Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I dismissed the Doherty rumours when they first appeared both because the player at age 28 is well outside Levy's preferred age of under 23/24 and also I couldnt see Wolves wanting to sell at anything less than a large price for a player with a couple of years left on his contract.

But the jungle drums seem to have been beating louder and louder in the last few days, seeming to say the deal is all but done.

I'd suggest he's one of the best attacking RB's in PL and at the rumoured £15m price still a very good piece of business despite his age. An upgrade on the accident prone Aurier which has to be good news.

Hope to hear him being announced as being done by Spurs in the next couple of days.

If we can actually get Doherty in for a similar amount as we can ship out Aurier then I will be over the fucking moon! Levy do your thing you little bald maniac.

It’s good that they’re going for PL proven players. Can’t fuck about trying to settle in players with the fixture pile up right at the start of the year.

Wolves last played on August 11th, so this feels like the real RB target Mou/Levy had in mind all along. At this rate, I would expect Doherty to complete the medical this weekend if he cuts his holiday short.

If this move goes through I'd expect him to play a similar role to the one Aurier played from January-March. So good in the air, smart player, not the best technically in build up play, serious goal threat, definite upgrade on Aurier and a good deal if the £15m price is correct. Definitely needs to be playing in that wing back role to be effective going forward though, much of his impact comes from runs inside the wing players. Interesting to see how he fits in, hopefully it won't be a clunky transition for him. ((if it happens))

He's also quite good defensively most of the time. I've seen him make mistakes but every defender makes mistakes.
