For me, Doherty doesn't have the quality to be a starter in a team that wants to go to the Champions League.

I accept Doherty to stay as a second option for RB.
People say this type of shit all the time, but look at the rosters of Champions League squads. There's always 2-3 guys that sort of fill out the squad, do a job and work well within the system.

Liverpool started Milner, Henderson and whoever their non-van Dijk CB was (Gomez?) and ran away with the league because they ran their system through their fullbacks and front 3. Not everyone is going to be world-class at any club.

ENIC take no money out the club, unless you count Levy’s salary.
But they spend a lower proportion of their turnover on the football team than the rest of our PL counterparts, and a higher proportion on real estate and infrastructure which increases the long term value of their asset.

So it depends how you interpret it.

They are, after all, an investment company who have openly admitted they're only involved in football to milk Its popularity and make money.

If we're playing a Faroese runner-up on Thursday, Manchester United on Sunday, and Yeovil Town on Tuesday, we're going to need some options.

I guess Gedson and Cirkin as starting fullbacks? What if literally anyone along our backline picks up a knock?

We're very light at fullback!

Who would you rather be a member in good standing of the squad next year, Aurier or Rose?
Errr - how about we sell Serge and buy someone decent instead?

Tweet seems to refuse to load so here it is in text form from Hotspur Related:

#thfc are negotiating a deal worth around £16M with Wolves to sign right-back Matt Doherty. The player is keen on a new challenge after ten years at his current club. [Daily Mirror]

The excitement for Doherty literally crashed the forum :levywhoa:

I have some exclusive footage from TFC forum servers:

Already IN:
Hojbjerg
Hart
Doherty

Still need: CB, ST, CM

That is the order of concern for after this apparent signing.

- Skriniar for Ndombele seems to have some legs. Latest I read indicated Conte wants him desperately. Levy doesn't want to sell unless he gets good value (ex: Skriniar). Inter is hesitant to include him. I think there is too much smoke for there not to be any truth. I have a feeling this one happens.

- King and Wilson seem to be the most likely. I'm fine with either.

- The most heavily linked midfield player is Rakitic, but I have read he really wants Sevilla. I don't think it'll happen. I have my fingers crossed for Sangare.

just got some solid ITK from one of my sources at the club, we are looking to do a deal for Doherty from Wolves , reckons we can get him with the money from the Aurier deal! Said he reckons we will announce once he passes his medical #ITK
