Thinking you were from Zimbabwe is racist?

Na.
Doherty at 15 million is probably as cheap as it gets , so he wouldn't have to put is foot down.
Levy doesn't fully trust anyone, Poch was the guy who had the most trust but he still bumped heads with him over recruitment.Quite possibly.
Or its the fact that Levy trusts in a man that has won multiple titles wherever he has gone in a short space of time; 1-4 seasons. The evidence suggests that experienced players, that are from a slightly older generation are more adept at understanding Mou's way of thinking tactically and motiation. Althought this cant be said in generalities. I think the documentary is going to show how well versed he is in both disciplines.
It could also be becaue the recruitment staff are a bit more clued up with the analytical and data driven approach that has come to the fore over the last 5-6 seasons. Not just shelling out on potentials, with the likes of Foyth, Sess etc. Although this data approach can only be attributed to so much vs. obvious potential for younger players.
We arent going to sign world beaters, until we become world beaters or very close to consistenly challenging the current world beaters.
I like the PEH, Hart and potential Doherty signing. Experience and character mean a lot to a team challenging to get back to a certain base level of succes, like we are currently doing under Jose.
If we become a solid, water tight team on the pitch with consistent W's next season then the net spend shouldnt really be taken in to account or grumbled at. Its the destination, as they say, not the path taken that is important with Mou's tenure. If we 1-0 and 0-1 the likes of Chelsea home and away next season, then this place should be pretty happy with that.
Am I wrong?
Rednapp wanted a winner and some bite in midfield, 5 million fee, no problem.Reminds me of when we signed Parker.... Goes against the grain in terms of age, but still good value, ticks important boxes and very low risk.
We could have bought any old bollocks if cheap was all that mattered.

The players that we recruited so far are here because there was opportunity to get them cheap in Hart's case for free. It doesn't mean there is going to be any big rebuild, PEH replaces Wanyama, Hart replaces Vorm, Doherty replaces KWP, it's smoke and mirrors.
There is in no way Doherty is a Levy signing. If Levy had his way, Aarons would have been bought in. 20 year old with sell on value. Doherty will have no sell on value, it's a Mourinho signing. Hojbjerg was only linked to us when Mourinho had signed. Yes, he had a year left which is a Levy favourite, but Mourinho would have been behind him due to his leadership.Levy doesn't fully trust anyone, Poch was the guy who had the most trust but he still bumped heads with him over recruitment.

We'll just replace him with someone not as good and not homegrown.
I think what he means is improving the RB and signing a DM isn’t what we needCare to explain?
7/9 players recruited since last summer are 24 or under.... One would expect them to be around for a number of years.
Meanwhile, apart from KWP everyone leaving has been at the other end of the age scale....
How would you typically describe a rebuild?

Just on Sky that Spurs have rejected an opening bid for Aurier from AC Milan
Sell Bergwijn to buy Stengs? Bergwijn scored the same amount and got more assists than Stengs in the Eredivisie.........and Bergwijn was only there 1/2 the season!
Doherty has 2 attributes your suggestions dont have :
1 PL proven
2 Qualifies as HG replacing an Overseas Trained player = Freeing up space for another Overseas Trained player.
Atal just come back from injury, not sure he's played since ?
Its about building a squad, so as I say, the only compromise with Doherty is replaing a 27 year old with a 28 year old. Not ideal but I get that JM wants experienced players - and that's the compromise with hiring JM.
Of course JM is also building the squad in a different way - Tanganga (CB) played last season, Cirkin and White name tagged as playing in 20/21 and played v Ipswich (and both looked fine), as well as Bowen and CCV playing against Ipswich whilst Skipp, Eyoma and Parrott loaned out to get experience. Of those 8 youngsters I'd like to think that in 2 or 3 years time there are 2/3/4 Club Trained players who will form part of the squad going forward (and JM knows we will need some of them in the squad now given the hectic schedule we have this season).
So 28 year old Doherty is signed but JM commits to getting several youngsters through into Spurs first team squad - think that's a win win compromise for both points of view.
Getting rid of Sissoko, Lamela, Rose, Aurier, Foyth,. I'm 50/50 on Moura . Bring in back up striker, DM, creative midfielder.Care to explain?

Easier said then done, it will probably take us near enough the whole window to find someone who wants to pay 40/50m for Alli if at all, only Man U would be realist suitors. We don't have to replace him like for like at all. We could sell him for 40-50m and buy Kessie and Wijndal or Eze and Kessie etc etc.
Strengs scored 5 assisted 7, Bergwijn scored 3 and assisted 1. 2100 minutes v 700. So almost identical basic output per min. I just think Stengs has much bigger potential and has a more exciting skill set.
