Though someone like Vertonghen showed great loyalty to this club, so it's not a set thing. I don't blame Donny for aiming high when he was being touted around the super clubs of europe in the media.

If I had to guess, I reckon we've registered our interest in him for a while now and it may have just clicked that no-one bigger is seriously interested.

He stuck with Ajax for a year after the *big* exodus of their CL run stars, so they should reward that by letting him go for a decent offer.

Van de Beek was left out of a friendly today and some Ajax official said it was because there had been developments regarding a transfer. So something is happening and the deal with Utd is probably true

Ajax boss Erik ten Hag confirmed Donny van de Beek was left out of their pre-season game against Eintracht Frankfurt due to "developments" regarding his future.

Not going to get too excited about Van de Beek news. It seems more likely he’s going to Utd.

What I will say is we have a good history with Ajax for transfers, with Sanchez, Eriksen and Vertonghen moves. It could come down to who Van de Beek prefers.

If we do sign him I imagine it’s the end for Tanguy.
