Calvert-Lewin is shit, decent in the air, but seeing him as beneath is isn’t the problem, seeing the likes of James, Bale and Coutinho as beneath us though, is utterly ludicrous.

All because 'they don't run or work hard enough'. Jesus, I'd watch athletics if that was what I was interested in.

Villa dropping £33m on Watkins, £20m on Martinez, £17m on Traore and looking at Benrhama, but I'm supposed to believe we can't afford £25m for Rodriguez or £30m for Milik.
 
We need a LB a creative midfielder and a decent back up striker which we wont get because levy and Enic dont care. It's all about money and until they change there attitude Tottenham will never challenge for anything major.

Yep. So fucking ridiculous to have a new CM pairing doing ok, and you start tinkering after an hour.
His first mistake was taking off Dele for Sissoko.

It wasn't insane. He wanted to shore up the right side with Sissoko helping Doherty and put a more energetic presser, Lucas, in Dele's position. It just didn't work.

The real killer sub was removing Winks for Bergwijn. Then we lost all ability to play because Sissoko moved into the centre, after that we disappeared from the game. The shape and structure evaporated.

Whilst I understand and agree with the broader point you are making, in this instance, buying dross would be completely on Levy and Joe Lewis. We were in a European Cup Final last year and are now, un-ironically, being linked with an ex-Crystal Palace loanee donkey.

The board are 100% responsible for the calibre and status of players that they allow to put on a Spurs shirt. And that is dictated by finance. They could go out and buy Edouard, but are unwilling to pay the fee. Sure, you are correct, perhaps there is an absolute diamond to be had, playing low down in the leagues and if we had the finest scouting system in the world, we would be better at unearthing them. But we do not. So, Levy and Lewis need to stump up.

Tbf, sammyspurs sammyspurs said "first mistake" and as you also said, it didn't work.

Jose has this horrible idea that Lucas and Bergwijn can play in the middle (#10).... It's hurt us a few times now.

What are our links to creative midfielders? We really need a 2017-Eriksen-type of player. It could make this team click. Just look at Bruno in Manchester and compare it to our lateral passing midfield. We supposedly made an offer for Zaniolo for 45m but there are no other links to ams? Seems weird to me that we are ready to offer 45m for a player in a position and when we don't get him, just forget about the position.

I think it should be our number one objective.

Let's not equate whatever gaps we do have with Doherty and Hojberg being shit.

Don't see whats's wrong with signing MD and even if Hojberg finds a whole new level to his game our MF balance is still fucked.
 
People slating the idea of Sorloth but begging for a striker. United have signed Ighalo, who had a horrible last couple of years at Watford. Sorloth didnt suit Palace, doesn't mean who won't suit us. He's done well in Turkey and for Norway of late. Give the lad a chance before slating him.

I think people are genuinely shitting it, now not trusting the scouting department, club and manager so when we are linked to 'lesser' players we panic.
