Re signing Eriksen would be the most tottenham like signing we could possibly make

Signing someone we dont need just because we can and because it would be cheap

While neglecting the actual areas that need addressing

Signing someone because they were once good or had played for us and been good a long time in the past

As I said , this signing screams tottenham , its everything that has been wrong with our recruitment for years now

Lazy , unimaginative and quite frankly incompetent

For all these reasons and more I wouldn't be surprised if it happens

If we do sign someone, which I doubt.
It won’t be a Di Maria or an Eriksen.
Both would command too high a wage.
We already have Bale on god knows how much but I imagine we’re paying at least half of his 600K a week.

It would be similar to a Rodon type signing. British and cheap weekly wage.

Lamela could if he stayed fit, Bergwijn might if he didn't need to run as much, prior to his chances (or both can increase lung capacity by high Omega3 - and time - to proliferate their cells abilities to conduct oxygen based metabolism, also a hard focus on fat profile in diet to minimise those antagonstic to oxygen conductance - processed oils etc).

Can't help feel if Lamela had been fit we'd have more wins in those draws (the odd loss), as he gives such impetus for momentum and drive we lack in most bar Hojbjerg.

Lamela should have been sold about 6-7 years ago.

Car-crash of a signing.

I thought he would be the next great RAM based on his ridiculous record at Roma, but it never really turned out to be. It just seems like he couldn't get his tricks and skills to quite come off at the pace of the prem rather than Italy. I've only given up on him myself now that I see what a hurtful use of a roster spot he is with his never ending injury struggles. It's sad but we can't afford to carry any passengers in a 25 man squad.

For me the worst thing isn't even his fitness.

It's his complete lack of adabtability into whatever tactical situation.

Only useful as an emergency backup as a no9, a position where his constant giving away the ball doesn't hurt the team, where his natural good touch and technique can be used and where he doesn't have time to think and take 4-5 touches on the ball.

Car crash handling IMO, always gives 100% when fit, under Poch he got back in the team time and again, as it's clear he sparks those around him with his sharp aggressive running and hassling, Mourinho sees it the same IMO. Conditioning failure, how is that Lamela's fault? more the medical and recovery/diet teams in my mind.

The overseas aspect clouds it of course, but I'm happy he see out his contract, the club chose to give it him.

Handling?

He's played under 4 different managers, all with the same results. Which are none whatsoever.

He's just not as good as we hoped. Deal with it.

Also the myth about "aggression" and "running" is just ROFL. The guy is total liability, conceding fouls and giving the ball away in the most needles of spaces and situations.

If you want to see intelligent hassling, go watch some of the Barcelona forwards, the Dortmund AM line or even our own PEH. Lamela is just sprinting into the opposition for the sake of it. It's the football equilant of rolling dice in a casino.

Ya but did those managers have him eating enough Omega 69’s? Or Alpha Centurion 911’s?

That’s clearly the problem with Lamela not the fact he couldn’t read a play and make a pass to save his life, it’s his “diet.” LOL

Also the player who knocked his mrs is gone.

It's a compliment you don't understand, frankly.

He appears to suffer from excess nitrate in my perception, probably dietary upbringing as he's always had the hypoxia like under eyes. Hence he is one who should have had exceptional dietary focus on oxygen carrying enhancements like high dietary N3 and/or MSM, nitrate free water and low diet sources etc. He appears fundamentally an outstanding physique and when poised and fully fit, he's a joy.

Gazzaniga is no better than Hart.

So who gives a toss?
I think he is marginally better. (I know Gaz is also fairly poor even for a backup). Hart's last few games have been horrendous against poor opposition, hate to see what he'd be like against PL sides.

If better is the amount by which he is better worth the foreign roster spot?

I don't know really, depends on whether or not you ended up having to play Joe Hart in a Europa League semi final. If I'm rating our keepers out of 100 I probably have them Lloris 89, Gaz 69, Hart 62.

You are likely right, all the doctors, nutritionists and training staff involved in Lamela's life all likely missed the signs that you from your TV and internet have been able to deduce and apply your pseudoscience BS.

It is much more likely that you are correct and your BS omega nonsense would make him a better player and the multitude of people with millions of dollars, as well as professional responsibilities in terms of any medical professionals have all missed it.

If only Spurs had you on the team Lamela would be a Messi level player thanks to his N34HQPT9er levels being managed so much better.

Homegrown issues aside. This is a rumor that I really like. Putting him next to Hojbjerg would balance our midfield much more and allow Tanguy and Gio to become all out attacking midfielders.

We’ve been linked with Sanson for at least the last 4 Windows. He looks a decent player but he’s in and out of team which suggests he lacks consistency in his performances.
