He still is the best, going off one game where he wasn't nearly as bad as you are trying to paint it doesn't change the fact that he is still the best.
Bergwijn would be better because they both would be terrible at the defensive aspects, but at least Bergwijn could offer some passing ability and help the move the ball through the midfield.
Both would be terrible options at DM but at least Bergwijn could do something while Sissoko is just a complete dud that offers nothing positive.

The point is that when Mourinho felt Toby should be starting, he started 11 PL matches until he was injured. If same manager has not started him since, and when he did play he was poor, then we can reasonably assume that he is no longer what he was before and therefore should not be starting ahead of the other choices.

I'd settle for FA Cup and 6th over 4th or UEFA Cup and 8th or both and 9th, the cabinet is bare. League Cup not so much, maybe 5th.
It's vastly better than playing an already average player out of position. I'd take Toby at CB in a XI rather than an out of position Doherty any day of the week.

Pochs remit was league + CL, with the domestic cups clearly below top 4 in the pecking order while we built the stadium. You can debate all day long whether that's modern football gone wrong or not but that's what he (and probably Mourinho too) are working towards
