If we don't re-sign Vini we might have to look for another back up striker.

If we can bolster full back (Sessengon in for Davies, anyone in for Doherty), get one top quality centre back, and add a top quality centre mid (along with Skipp's introduction) I think we give the platform for our quality attackers to deliver.

We just can't be in 2022 still playing the likes of Sissoko, Dier, Davies, Winks.
So why did you disagree with my idea of: bringing in Weghorst as back up striker, recalling Sessegnon from loan, bringing in new CBs, and adding Sabitzer as a top quality CM along with Skipp?

4 players there who would be in the last year of their contract. Lloris, Gazza, Aurier, Lamela. We''d be mad offering new contracts to Gazza and Lamela. Aurier has wanted out for the last 2 summers and i'm not sure Hugo will sign up again with PSG sniffing.
Fair, I think there's a strong case to sell all 4 of them.
With Aurier, I think perhaps give him a one year contract extension and then sell him in 2022. He has played quite well, and I think getting 2CBs is more of a priority.
Not sure we'd get much money from selling Lamela as he's so injury prone.
Lloris we could sell, but who would you realistically buy as a replacement this year? My thought process was we give him a one year extension and then buy a replacement when fans returning means our financial prospects have improved?

I think Dean Henderson is a perfect replacement for Hugo. And he is a HG...

He’s much much better with the ball and reading the game. I saw him live more than 30 times in a year. And against top opposition in the champions league as well.
Yes he is better on the ball than Sanchez but my comparison was on the defensive side, in which I would take Sanchez over him.

I disagree totally with him being good at reading the game cos he is often out of position. He might look that way in a lesser league but he has been shit for Real Madrid.

His performance against Shakhtar in the CL was terrible

Given the players ages whats in it for them signing 1 year contracts? They have let their contracts run down so they have the security of 3 or 4 year contracts probably elsewhere. Levy is just going to have to suck it up and accept what we can get for that lot, Hugo possibly the only exception, he might get offered a new deal but as previously mentioned i don't think he'll sign up again.

Fine, will update my calculations.
How much do you think we would get for Lloris, Aurier, and Lamela and who would you get as a new RB and GK?

Disagreed with Sessengon as cover for Son - he is not a winger. Or at least not a good one.

Disagreed with another season of Aurier and Doherty.

Centre backs a mess, Gazza 2nd choice, midfield shape and personnel all wrong. Disaster really.

A lot to disagree with.

Sess is playing at LWB and LW for Hoff, and was LW in last 2 years at Fulham, so I think he’ll struggle with defensive aspect of being a LB in PL.

Midfield shape was just the automatic template for 4-3-3 with the line up generator I was using.
Why were CBs a mess? I’ve heard good things about Pau Torres, and he’s impressed enough to become a starter for Spain.

Not a lot sadly. Doubt we'll get much more than £20m/£25m for all 4 out of contract players in the current climate. I'm not great on foreign football so don't know all the names available, from the prem Henderson or Pope as keeper although i think the AC Milan keeper only has a year left on his contract, right back can only think of Aarons or Lamptey, right back choices seem really limited.

He's played LB for the majority of the season at Hoffenheim.

Think the idea was to give Sess a year of play at LWB/LB. Agree he may not cut it as a PL left back but he sure as hell won't cut it as a LW so he needs to step up or be moved on.

If we can rotate him and Reggie we can at least have an attacking presence at all times down that side. Davies has been flogged long enough. Time to move him on or keep him as emergency CB and LB cover, which I think he'd be fine with.

We're not signing two centre backs that would command large fees. Maybe one if we're lucky. Who they are I have no idea but I don't think it's hard to upgrade on what we have now.

Yeah I would love to see Sessegnon as an attacking LB. He is quick, which could hopefully make up for his lack of defensive skills.

Why were you so against the CBs I proposed? It’s unlikely Levy signs two, but frankly it should happen as a matter of priority.
