Are you comparing us to the likes of Liverpool? Maybe they can afford to sacrifice such players but we cannot. Even if we have 250m for those two(plus we will obviously also sell the deadwood in the team too. Are you suggesting we buy 8-9 new players maybe more? Dear god. Turned the Tv off and shut down the TFC after the final whistle. After too much wine and beer Im venturing on here without reading up on other posts post match, but here goes with my take.
Another shite performance against a team that we could have beaten by 3 or 4 goals if we only hd kelt on the front foot and had ‘go at them’. That is such a basic instinct that most teams possess but one that we have forgotten.
Our defence obviously could have been better but when all said and done we could have easily out scored them if only we attacked them more. Instead we went through most of the match (and recent games) playing without any ambition.
When Newcastle turned the ball over their first thought was to attack and threatened our defence. When we took possession we flounced around passing it square or backwards until a sloppy pass handed it back to them. Then it was rinse and repeat for the remainder of the half until we lost the lead. What the f@ck is going on?! This is basic stuff. We have great attackers and deficient defenders...:.so it’s obvious what we should be focusing on.

As am I, but does Jose tell the players to clear balls that way? Apart from a few the team is shit beyond belief. We should never have let Jan vertongen go. He may not have been at the level he wants anymore but even half that was better then what we have now. It's truly shocking. What's worrying is hojbjerg and Regie and starting to catch the bug
Better CB’s would be great. But no matter how great the CB’s we could get (and let’s be honest here, we are unlikely to sign ready made world class ones) they will still get exposed if the team around them aren’t taught to defend properly as a coherent collective.
Yep sometimes attack is the best form of defense. We can't really blame Jose for the team selection which was very attacking however it's just incredible how clueless we look going forward with the wealth of attacking players we have. That has to come down to the manager not getting the most out of them.
