Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Too many Daily Mirror/Sun readers get brainwashed by red top papers who are AGAINST Tottenham. If you lose Mourinho in his first full season in charge (with none of his players bought) you go back to square one which is what your enemies want.

The media scorned Mourinho when he joined Spurs and wanted him to fail while Woolwich hired rookie Arteta and had no such criticism. Arteta has flopped even with MASSIVE SKY support to force referees to give all their dives and David Luiz headbutting Jimenez deliberately not condemned, but when McTomaney does hit Son in the face clearly it's derided as a bad call on Sky (Woolwich TV).

The Spurs fans on here have a go at their own team and their own manager rather than Sky or the FA or media. These Spurs fans are the worse fans any club could want.

They are spoilt brats feeling entitled and have no loyalty or even half a brain to see the big picture. I wish they would go support Crystal Palace and complain about them because they drag Tottenham down when they should be looking at other factors.

Oh, Mourinho isn't perfect either. He left out Alderweireld for no good reason. Lloris was poor on two goals also. José said they all gave 100%, I think Lloris gave about 25% (as usual).

You are the worst poster who ever lived.

Fuck off.

Why the fuck is this taking so long

he’s sacked managers for much less

How is this chelsea rat still here
I think he's tied in knots with an awful contract situation. Likely thought Mourinho was a great coach, we have great players and needing to get rid of him at this stage would be unlikely.

Say it costs us 8m extra to sack him now than at the end of the season without European football (no idea if this is the case, just speculation) - it is a tough decision to make.

I can't be bothered to change my vote.
And for me, it's a question that dates back to his appointment and I still can see why it was made.
It was a gamble. We lost.
Was it a gamble?

The World's tightest chairman employs the World's best chequebook manager to try and be great on a budget and use pure management skills.

That's not a gamble, that's a fucking disaster

It made sense at the time. Mourinho had a 100% track record of winning trophies in a short space of time based on pragmatism and a siege mentality. Levy wanted to win something to get that monkey off our (his) back.

It failed but most of us were willing to give it a chance.

Could be people who no longer post on here as well. From people i know outside of message boards its been at 100% for weeks now, some angry, some just apathetic. In our fanbase overall i reckon at least 90% as well. Its untenable.
Yeah, I live in Ireland so don't have a huge amount of Spurs fans living nearby. The few I know tried to get into the Jose thing and support a different style of football, it was the natural thing to do. It's been clear to most for about three months now that we're going nowhere with the guy.

Obviously other issues to be fixed with the squad and the club in general, but the right coach is the most important by a long way.

I wish people would stop saying this, you were wrong, Levy was wrong. Anyone with half a brain could see he was washed up

I’m really worried Levy is still in love with him
I'm pretty sure Levy thinks purely in cold calculations and spreadsheets, no love at all. Hence why the pure, manageable business ventures like the stadium, training ground and youth team production line (for resale) have been a success.
He'll be waiting until whatever the trigger point is - presumably end of the season outside of the Europa spots, to sack him.

Yep that is exactly what I did. I was initially horrified at both Poch's sacking and Mourinho's appointment. After beating West Ham etc I thought give him a shot see if we can win something but knew it would turn toxic eventually. Sadly we didn't get a trophy in the mean time.
Same.

This was my post from 20th of Nov 2019:

"Late to the party, but just want to say: FUUUUCCCKKKK! Oh please god don't get Mourinho."

The rest is an incoherent rant, but suffice to say I voted 'No' in the 'saviour' poll. I changed it later to a yes around the time we were top and that's gone back to a firm 'FUCK NO'. I've tried to stick with our gaffer, but there is no rock left for him to hide under. Yesterday was the final straw for me. I thought it was worth giving him until the summer, but he's a fucking twat and being shown up on a regular basis. Fuck him.

I'm reaching for some consolation, but it's hard to see where anything could possibly come from. I honestly don't know if there's any point watching the rest of this season. I might have to pick a surrogate team to fill in the time.

Please, please, please, Daniel, get Redknapp in for the rest of the season.
