I think it is purely Levy working out what is best from a financial point of view, paying off Mourinho now or end of season, and if we replaced now would we likely get the additional revenue of Champions League, that we won't if Mourinho stays.

I think there is absolutely zero chance he is our manager next season, and Levy is just taking advantage of no crowds present to delay decision.
I see a lot about the crowd being toxic if we were there in person. Don’t really believe it myself. We’d still cheer goals, clap politely at passes and moan and boo when we concede.

Also don’t think Levy is that bothered by local crowds either. How much are ST holders buying at the club shop? Probably less than tourist fans. Probably spending less at food and beverage too.

And we saw from the Amazon doc that he’s not shy in speaking to the players. I can only assume if the players had a problem, Levy would know about it and act on it. He hasn’t, so there maybe isn’t.

Hope I didn't come off like that though. I was just stating my Jose-hatred bona fides.

Yeah, but didn't he give a 'clean slate' and they were around another year? I understand and agree with the wisdom but in our current case I just think some have already been here long enough and won't be geting better...like Dier who is both bad, not improved, and not HG. Some recent additions like Berg and Sess I can understand it.

Pretty much but will extend the mediocrity for the club to another season past the calls for a painful rebuild. And we'll keep pushing off what needs to occur. Shame!
What I mean about a free hit is that he gets time to instigate his clearout and implement his positive ethos. Results, as long as they aren’t disastrous, come 2nd. Much like 14-15. The rebuild is unavoidable., and it’s starting 3 years too late.

Latest ITK's from various sources, sure more will come out today.

1. Jose was nailed on to go, just a matter of timing now

2. Part of board want him gone today, lost last 10 games vs Top 10 teams plus Croatia defeat. Daniel wants a trophy, only thing keeping him in a job is the final. Could well go after final.

What logic is that though ? In what planet does anybody think Mourinho is going to navigate a cup final win v City ? Surely logic tells you, to stand a very small chance of winning it, you sack the toxic manager and hope we get a stroke of luck in the final. I won’t be watching anyway. I’m just about done with this season.

The gross mismanagement doesn't just stop with Mourinho. How Levy has let this fester for 3 months is beyond incompetence. He has built up a mixture of anger and apathy amongst our fanbase i don't think i've seen before. Not sure he will be forgiven for this.
Listening to Paul Hawksbee earlier and he can’t even summon up the energy to get angry now

Usually I would have been major pissed off yesterday but just accepted it and enjoyed our goal

What are the odds that he clings on until after the league cup final?

Surely Levy cannot keep him on if he fails in the one trophy that we actually have a theoretical chance at.

Wrong IMO

He gonna ignore chants of Fuck Off Mourino/Chelsea rent buy etc

Jose will lose it and Levy will have zero choice but to chop the head off the chicken

On the fans in the ground point and the atmosphere, I've mentioned it before on here, the last game before lockdown against Norwich in the FA Cup when we lost on pens it already felt toxic in the stadium. That was after only about three months of Jose.

Imagine what a year of being locked up and shite football is gonna do for the atmosphere.

Will be horrendous if this carried on.

I was at the league cup defeat at home to Birmingham which was the night Sugar decided to sell the club because of the abuse. I hated Sugar but some of the things chanted were really grim. It was a fairly small crowd and i really think it could potentially be worse than it was that night if things are just left to drift.

Yep. I think it would be near Campbell return to the Lane level of vitriol due to how long this has gone on for, and we would then turn on Levy if he didn't react.
Levy knows this, Mourinho will not be our manager when fans return.

They've already turned on Levy if you look at what our official socials have had to post today.

At least some elements of our fanbase.

I have always been a bit anti-Levy, thought he was always in it for personal financial gain rather than the club.
Didn't want Poch to go, but could accept the course with him had been run, and if someone could come in, in same style make a few tweaks things would be OK.
Thought Mourinho was a disastrous appointment from the off.
I missed 8 games in total (home, away, Europe in 5 and half years under Poch all through other commitments, missed more than that purely through my choice in the 4 months fans could go to game under Mourinho, it was just a dreadful experience, just kept putting ticket on Ticket Exchange.
However after the last Summer transfer window told myself I would lay off Levy for the season, as he had provided the manager with the tools to perform his job., in difficult financial conditions.
However every day this drags on, the goodwill he built up with that window is diminishing and is almost at zero now.

It's perfectly fine to be critical of Levy. But there's no reason to post anti-Semitic abuse against him, which the club has now had to respond to due to such being hurled at the club on various channels.
