apparently Champions league and Europa league been cancelled temporarily. Wow, the fall out from this is immense

Henry Winter just wrote a piece.
He says' Tottenham Hotspur are not elite, they're arrogant'.
Yeah to be spanked every weekPersonally I still don't think it will happen, but it would actually be quite anti-Spursy if for the first season in many years we didn't make CL or EL, we get given a free pass to an even bigger competition.
We were heading for the europa conference league with Thursday nights against the 3rd team in Albania. What a turnaround to now be heading for the best teams in Europe.
I would have thought the backlash would be too great. However, I have seen the evolution in this very thread. People starting to accept it and statements such as, "if you can't beat them" and "rather be in it".I've read it. The backlash to this will be so strong that I can't see it getting off the ground as is, and certainly no time soon.
Well they are building a stadiumSome will say it's tough on clubs like Everton but I'd say they had 30 years to stop being shit and to update their dilapidated ground.
I reckon all this ' Why are Spurs there?' talk motivates us to get top 4 now this season.
:mourlmao:
Well that's fucking depressing. Personally, I'm having no part of a monopolistic competition without any basis in merit.I would have thought the backlash would be too great. However, I have seen the evolution in this very thread. People starting to accept it and statements such as, "if you can't beat them" and "rather be in it".
One fan made a good point in that we might've potentially thrown Kane's ambitions in becoming the record goalscorer for club, country and league in the bin. Wonder how he's feeling about this...
Let's say that the clubs are kicked out of the PL. and let's further assume that no players from those clubs will be able to play for their national sides.
Of course every fan of every team would like to think that their players are "honourable" and would pick country over club.
But, at the end of the day how many would walk away from the money ?
None would be my guess.
Bingo. Let’s be honest with ourselves, we’d be embarrassed every week if we were in this bullshit league. Levy truly would turn us into the laughing stock of world football just for more revenue. We got embarrassingly shat on 3-0 at the hands of the mighty Dinamo Zagreb the other week.
What makes Levy think that our bullshit joke of a squad and the professional clown who manages them could make us look any better on a bigger stage?
But I guess as long as we’re making money, Levy doesn’t give a flying shit how much of a laughing stock we end up looking.
Football has well and truly gone to the dogs. Let this be the final nail in the coffin because for most sane people, watching Spurs play is about as enjoyable as repeatedly kicking yourself in the testicles.
The club is putting its existence on the line. They aren't just messing about with this.Thats a roadblock thats in the way no matter when they start. Its a negotiation that will always have to take place, but there's nothing that says that negotiation can't be done quickly. And at the end of the day, the ESL clubs could just call their bluff and start play anyway. They've got the leverage, they wouldn't have made the announcement if they didn't know that.
Football fans are finicky. Imagine that...I would have thought the backlash would be too great. However, I have seen the evolution in this very thread. People starting to accept it and statements such as, "if you can't beat them" and "rather be in it".
