I take it you haven't seen the actual accounts then.
The ones that show that they haven't taken half a billion pounds out of the club.
We have remained profitable for years. ENIC are among the stingiest owners of the Premier league when it comes to injecting their own money into the club. The longer we turn a blind eye to it, the longer we wait for success on the pitch.

I really don't care about the club running sustainably when it essentially puts us at a disadvantage. Can we have a passionate billionaire that wants to actually see spurs be successful for once?

It's something I have consistently criticised Levy for. Our recruitment policy and our scouting.

Let's not forget that Poch wanted to keep Sissoko though, so much so that he ok'd a new 4 year deal for him, which Levy rubber stamped
I mean, obviously all of this stuff is more structured than the internet banter about it, and everyone is twisting half-reported gossip to suit their own agenda, but the manager and the owner of the club shouldn't be just mucking about making snap decisions on important matters in a vacuum at random. This isn't 1975 anymore.

You either give Pochettino a budget, a scouting department, and invest him with the authority to make decisions because of his importance to the club, or you establish a structure whereby properly credentialed people have the proper remit to make decisions for the club with the manager's input but not their final authority.

Levy and the gaffer shooting the shit in the canteen is the dinosaur bullshit that Levy purportedly is supposed to be developing the club away from.

Are you denying that villa had new owners who insisted that grealish stayed at the club before they bought it?

A shoestring budget?
He spent very nearly £100m for each of his years in charge

Have you found those qoutes yet?

I keep answering all your points and you can't even give me this one thing.
It's OK to say that you can't find them, or that they don't exist. I'll understand.
Noooo come on man, you think Poch had the level of resources that he needed to keep a team competitive at the top of the Premier league?

Yep

Which is why Levy backed Poch when he said he didn't want a Dof.
It didn't work.

I keep saying it, and I'll keep on saying it.
Our best signing would be to get a top level footballing DoF

No he didn't
The club has significantly less revenues than the clubs at the top, so obviously we have less to spend than them.
I think our fanbase are so used to being a tinpot club that we don't demand more from the owners. We want trophies, we want success. Either ENIC can pump the money in to make it happen, or sell to someone that will.

Abramovich made it happen at Chelsea. He cared about actually winning. That's the difference.

The difference is that Enic want, and has always said, that they want Spurs to be self sufficient.

Chelsea owe Abramovich £1.75 BILLION.
That's the actual debt in their accounts, so let's not pretend he's using his own money, without looking for it back.
If he decides to sell up, Chelsea are fucked.

Not one owner has ever used their own money to buy and finance a football club.
Oil state excluded.

If he sells up, the buyer will pay off that debt.

The number of billionaires worldwide is increasing pretty rapidly. I think there is something like 3000 billionaires as of 2021. I really don't think a club of Chelsea stature will have anything to worry about, there will always be a mega rich buyer willing to pump money in.

Self sufficient is fine for a club that do not win anything. But in the modern day football climate, working like this doesn't make trophies very likely. So we either all accept it and just be happy with the rare 4th place finish at best, or we ask for more.

If we accept it, we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves that clubs around us are winning big trophies on a regular basis. Maybe we can all pitch in to make our own 'participation' trophy instead?

You're quite right, a new owner will pay off that debt.
And then look for it back, like the Glaziers at Utd, who have taken £1 billion out of the club in various ways

I've always said we could have better owners, but we could also have a whole lot worse.

Or we can get new owners who will take millions, if not billions, out of the club and leave us in a worse place than when when they took over.

Agreed, they do surprisingly well for the resources they work to.

Are you denying that villa had new owners who insisted that grealish stayed at the club before they bought it?

You're squirming again, Stevee. Every man and his dog knows that Levy's low balling and dithering was the reason for us failing to land Grealish.

Nothing to do with Pocchetino mate.

I've just exploded your falacy that the reason for the ghost windows was unrealistic targets. Right up in your face.

But still, even now, you try and embarrassingly absolve Daniel Levy.

At the time of the transfer window disgrace, we had the third 5 year lowest net spend in the Premier League.
And when I post the stats, you dismiss that too.

Maybe now you can understand why some of us find your views so disconcerting.

It's not just signing one, it's vesting one with the proper authority and decision making power.

Frank Arnesen, Damien Comolli, Franco Baldini, and even Jacques Santini were all experienced heads of the footballing operation at top European clubs.

All of them were mere advisors to the Mad King, discarded as scapegoats the moment anything went wrong.

Squirming?

So says the fella that asks question after question and gets them answered, but is unwilling or unable to answer any himself.
I have posted again and again on here why I think net spend is bollocks.

It's interesting that you qoute net spend but ignore the fact that over the last 5 years our net spend is higher than the Dippers.

Do you deny that villa's new owners made it a condition of buying the club that grealish stayed there?

Have you got those qoutes yet?

I really don't care about the club running sustainably when it essentially puts us at a disadvantage. Can we have a passionate billionaire that wants to actually see spurs be successful for once?

Like I said before. Most big clubs have billionaire owners.

We get the cunt with 0 interest in his football team.

Spursy strikes again

I'm not sure that's a true reflection.
I can't remember exactly but didn't at least one of them get poached by other clubs for doing a good job at Spurs?
Chelsea springs to mind, but as I say, I'm not sure.

Do you deny that villa's new owners made it a condition of buying the club that grealish stayed there?
No.

Do you deny that Daniel Levy had ample time to wrap up the deal before the events you outline but failed due to his infamous lowballing tactics?

Or have every press outlet in the nation got it wrong.

No squirming please. A straight answer. Like I gave you.

And secondly, would you agree that Grealish being a confirmed Poch target explodes your myth that all his targets were unrealistic?

No squirming.

No.

So you agree that we would of got him if villa hadn't had the offer of new owners.
See, we got there in the end.
It's really not that hard and the world hasn't ended.

Have you found those qoutes yet?
