You get the feeling it is either Potter or Lopetegui when referring to attacking possession based football and considering Rogers and Ten Hag are pretty much out of the frame now.

When I read that, all I see is Allegri, Potter, and Rodgers as serious, and Mason with the outside shot.

18 votes for Poch are tragic bastards tbh.

118 votes for potter is even more embarrassing tbh

At least Potter (who makes me shudder as a candidate) is something different.

18 people voting to bring Poch back are admitting they didn't think he had to go and would have somehow turned it around.
Which us admitting they had no idea he was done, wanted to leave and waited for Levy to sack him so he didn't lose his massive fucking salary.

My point is, the opposition Brighton play against will play very differently against Brighton than they will against Tottenham.

Burnley, WBA etc will play to win against Brighton and other teams in that area. They'll be more open as a result and make Brighton look better.

I do understand that, and to a degree it will be true - but I dont think its the deal breaker you seem to -as Ive tried to explain above.

Ultimately Ive seen Brighton play through high pressing teams, open teams, and teams sitting back. So while, yes, some teams will treat them differently to us - I dont really think it matters as much as it appears you do.

In the example of teams like Bournemouth and Swansea (and I would want neither Howe or Martinez here, ever) there were similarities - particularly in the pretty attacking football - but IMO its a superficial thing. However, I think a lot of people seem to equate them as very similar/indicative to Brighton. (Structurally/size of club/journey - definite similarities, but not on the field IMO)

Brighton have a very good defense, fundamental in successful teams - and they are a very fluid team able to play tactically to suit (IE - Leeds, they ceded possession in certain areas compared to normal and effectively bossed the game). They always have numbers where they need them and so can play that football that looks so simple but is deceptive in its difficulty to execute.

I genuinely think he is a coach destined for bigger things, and were we to get him in he will transform us.

I never thought that of Howe, Martinez etc - there were always such glaring issues in their sides (and work).

Potter? I cant see the obvious weakness. Aside from the squad he has at hand, which really isnt his fault given he is at Brighton.

Seems to me the biggist issues with him is he is a Graham, is at Brighton, and is yet to prove he can do it at a big club. I think anyone who takes the time to really watch his side would think very positively of him.

Spurs need to make a decision quickly. Wether it’s Potter, Lord Voldermort, Conte or whoever, they need to start planning for next season. This summer is probably as important as ever in relation to Harry Kane, new manager and the transfer window

Is there anything concrete on interest in Lopetugi? I'd quite like him here just don't see any links to him really.

I'd say we could offer him better money than Sevilla, might bring Kounde with him!

now we're talking.

Doesn't look like it. I'm pretty sure its going to be one of Rodgers, Potter or heaven help us Martinez. Possibly Allegri as an outside bet but not sure he fits what they seem to be looking for.

It's all well and good admiring Potters Brighton for playing attacking football, but how often are Brighton playing against teams that will sit deep and defend hard, waste time and play for the draw?

I firmly believe you can't translate a lower teams performance directly into a higher teams. And to be fair, it works both ways.
Would Guardiola get Sheffield United playing possession dominant football and have them in the upper 3rd of the league?
To suggest Potter could come to Spurs and bring with it a guarantee style of play is naive. He will be facing opposition with a very different mentality to what he's playing against today.
They on average have 51% of the ball if I remember correctly. They are not a constant pressing team. I swear people just don't watch football.

Take it from me. Have missed one game of theirs this season. They have not struggled against teams that sit in a low block. They struggle at finishing.

He took them right back out of Europe when Suarez left though. The whole team fell apart with the loss of just one player and he squandered the proceeds of the sale. They were getting spanked by the likes of Stoke.

If you put a cat in charge of Celtic without Rangers in the league they'd still dominate.

Leicester blew the CL last season and they may well blow it again this one. Rodgers has been a waste of space in European football throughout his entire career.

I definitely have those doubts about him. His teams have been shocking in Europe Thats for sure. If he blows top four again I think it’s a huge red flag.

I don't mind Potter, he was my 4th choice after Naglesmann, Rodgers and ten Hag but it would be a massive gamble. Yet the way he's being made out to be miles ahead of other names is madness. Why everything has to be so binary these days i will never know. There may be many valid reasons but he has won 8 games this season and is being out performed by Steve Cooper at Swansea. He may go on to be a really good manager but surely anyone can see it would be a hell of a risk. After getting rid of those Mourinho weirdos we could do without another cult developing.
A lot of people go in about how well he did in Sweden
Not really a comparison in my book but he’s preferable to Southgate Martinez Rodgers Nuno etc

I want Ryan to stay the more I see of him in the job. He understands how to talk to modern footballers and how to work with them because he is one, and that man management seems to be about 90 per cent of the job nowadays.
