Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Levy doesn't want to sell, how can it be on Levy when it's Kane that's pushing to leave?

Bale left because Bale wanted to leave, Walker left because Walker wanted to leave.

Again, there's a lot of rewriting history in that last para, it's very fair to say that Poch also responsible for not bringing in players, he's on record saying he would rather not sign anyone than the wrong one. The whole not being backed argument simply doesn't hold water either, Poch was given what he wanted (control of football) when he was promoted to manager and we as a Club had our hands tied financially whilst building a £1.2b stadium. These are a known set of circumstances, communicated to fans and something that Poch was and had agreed to work under, he knew that score when he signed his new contract.

For me, the biggest mistake was hiring the Dinosaur, called it at the time but half the fanbase were completely on board with it, running around outside White Hart Lane saying we've signed a winner blah, blah, blah. Those same fans now point the finger for something they clearly would have also done.

During this time too, we kept all of our players, as all of them were linked away with big money moves (Lloris, Kane, Dele, Son, Rose, Vertonghen, Eriksen etc) now it turns out reading most of the player thread in here that we should have sold, despite every single time our players were linked arguments went on for pages and pages about us being a "selling club".

It's highly unlikely that he will leave given his age and the amount of money it will cost to acquire him in a post-COViD world (in fact a post COVID world we are actually not in one yet and with new variants immerging it's hard to see a return to football with full stadiums for quite some time), so this puts him beyond the reach of all bar 5 Clubs in the World that would buy him.

The only 3 Clubs I could see him go to are City, Utd. PSG (whilst I don't see it as posible Chavs also have the means to acquire him).

BUT City have never spent more than £60m for a player and don't buy 28yrs olds, also they are high energy pressers Kane doesn't fit with this anymore. Utd are easily the more stupid and have an almost obsession with English players, with Kane as England Captain I can see them being all over this like a rash (but are Utd a serious step up than us? I'd say absolutely not, they are just a different animal financially). PSG are a fucking weird football club with a bizarre Sporting Director so who knows but I just don't see this move being great for Kane, everything about him both on and off the pitch suits the PL.

So, it really is impossible to see how this plays out.

But if those want to point fingers at someone then the reality is there is only one person to point the finger at if that's your want, KANE. If he wants to leave then it's in his hands.
So you have never left a job for greater responsibility (promotion) higher pay or because you became disenchanted with the leadership of your company?
You must still work in your first job.

It isn't about pointing fingers at Kane, he has been at the club way longer than the average footballer does.

Sad to see people now leaping onto the Sammy bandwagon and shitting the guy.

This stupid accusation that Kane goes missing in finals, I seem to remember they were against 3 clubs with superb defenders, and financially doped in terms of spending power, for the purchase of great players.
You don't generally get to play against clubs that can't defend in finals, because that's how they got there, by winning. Kane is an obvious threat, so he is heavily marked and clubs will take special measures to restrict his opportunities, only lately with Son have we had a player who can capitalise on the space left by the additional attention he gets.

I'm going to be gutted to see him go, I would have loved to see him here for another 5 seasons, becoming a club legend, which he pretty much has, even at this stage of his career.

I'm glad I was around to see him play for the club I have supported all my life.

Please don't let it be Chelsea.

One thing is for certain in all this that when Kane goes there will never be a more damning hit against Levy and ENIC's ownership of the club.

Yes they've brought us far but ultimately, despite the awesome stadium, amazing training facilities and high club value, they couldn't keep our ultimate 'one of our own'.

Not sure they can come back from that really.

That’s the point for me too.

We have one of the greatest players of his generation, worldwide, and he’s home-grown. We push into PL title contention, get to the CL final. We build the fantastic, world-leading new stadium. And we slide backwards, scrambling to rescue a EL place and winning nothing, and the world-class homegrown superstar wants to leave.

The leadership of the club has killed the goose that laid the golden egg - and I don’t mean Kane leaving, I mean the position we found ourselves in around 2016-17.

There's just no reason to sell him this summer when he still has another 3 years on his contract

I can't see Kane refusing to train or anything like that, keep him for another year, hire the right manager and see what position were in next year

If we're still nowhere near competing and he wants to leave, next summer would be the time to sell.

Kane is a once in a century miracle, an academy player who was so good that the utter shambles of the Bale saga was forgotten.

If we sell him then there will not be another miracle, we will be putting all our trust in Levy and Hitchen replacing him properly and signing enough new players so that the team comes out better than it was with Kane. Is there a single Tottenham fan who would trust them to do that? After how badly they fucked it with Bale? After they spent almost £300m on Sanchez, Sissoko, Sessegnon, Soldado, Ndombele and Lo Celso?

We sell Kane and there is a 99.9% chance that we will become a completely irrelevant team for the foreseeable future.

This is my fear, even if we get loads of money for Kane who is orchestrating the rebuild?

We’ll probably get some patsy for a manager like Martinez whilst Levy goes rooting through the bargain bin.

I think we’re all in agreement who is responsible for our current cluster fuck and it’s the bloke with the purse strings

Kane has been a fantastic player for this club and always worked his ass off.

It’s a bit rich throwing a wobbly about players leaving when you’re willing to completely disregard his whole tenure at the drop of a hat.

I stand by everything I said, simple as.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

The timing of this really is awful. Villa and obviously Leicester are no pushovers, and the gulf between Europa League and this new conference league is huge. How is this landing with teammates? And Son in particular—who is a bit older, and with a shorter deal (and so more leverage to force a move), and who apparently hasn’t signed on yet—what must he be thinking this morning?

....and yet all our recent Cup Final opponents seem to meet one!

I guess this is where we really find out if Levy is now prepared to prioritise the football side.

If he is, then Kane has to stay.

New manager will want him there. New signings will want him there.

If we're now going to be about investment in the team and progress on the field then you don't sell your best player as part of that.

Dont think he will go PSG i tried to get him on my PSG fifa 21 save , everytime i tried to sign him , it said "He will not consider a move to a league he does not feel is competative enough

It's shocking how Sky are allowed to run a so-called Sports News channel and a betting platform together. That this massive conflict of interest is still permitted in todays regulated markets beggars belief.

Watching Son's body language at times, I think he may be a little fed up at the selfishness of some of his colleagues. I saw his head go down a number of times again in our last game. Whether it is guys taking crazy potshots or guys who don't want to put in the work when we don't have the ball, there is plenty for him to be disillusioned about right now.
