Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

at 1 year even 2 years yes. A 3 year deal puts it in the chairman’s hands, just like Zaha at Palace. Either someone offers £150-160m or nothing happens. It’s the following season that things change and we look to sell at a affordable 90-110m range.
Some truth in that, yes.

So why has everyone got their knickers in a twist?

The answer, because it might be feasible for one of a tiny handful of clubs to come up with £150m. It's unlikely but not out of the question.

How come we are only hearing about this gentleman’s agreement from last summer now?

If he really wanted to leave then we’d of heard about it fir sure just like we did with Modric. I’m calling bullshit on that one.

We had one with Dembele that only really came to light (or got mentioned) when we had him stay yet another year.

So I think it's plausible that a) Kane doesn't want that to happen to him b) that he's pushing very hard to leave.

With Modric, he refused to play, so this might also still happen with Kane, we've got all summer to go yet, let's see what happens when we get closer to the start of the new season. Loads of time for this to run yet.

I'm a massive Harry Kane fan, he's an amazing player who's been brilliant for us but no way am I gonna lose sleep if he does leave. The club is bigger than one player.

For everyone that says "he needs to leave to win trophies", this is a player who has played in three cup finals for us and numerous Semi-Finals etc and not performed or has been half injured. You cannot blame the club as it's a collective effort from everyone players, management and board. It's not like he hasn't had opportunities to win the league or cup competitions. He's been a part of the best Tottenham teams and collectively they haven't won anything. They've had plenty of opportunities.

For me Kane leaving is the easy option out, he could easily stay at Tottenham and be a legend for what he has done for the club but to leave and go and join a club like City that is funded by an oil state I think goes against what I thought Harry Kane was about.

He signed a six year contract, he was part of the team that got Poch sacked, he by all accounts was a massive fan of Mourinho and it didn't work out.

Like I say, he's an amazing player but I'm not gonna get the violin out.

Having said all of this, I still think he will be here next season.
Staying is the easy option.
It's what Matt LeTissier did. He can try try convince the world he had no regrets but was was magic and could have gone on to be a PL legend rather than a Southampton legend with no trophies.

Sources have told BBC Sport that Kane has not handed in an official transfer request but it is understood he thinks he has a gentleman's agreement that would allow him to leave this summer, as Tottenham's run without a trophy extends to 13 years.

Apologies if already posted

Yes, it’s not exactly Matthew le Tissier at Southampton doomed to never be rewarded with a winners medal for his loyalty. We’re 6th in the table at the moment, if we finish there it’s a 13 consecutive season we finish in the Top 6 stretching all the way back to 2008/09 season. No team in the league has a longer current consecutive run of Top 6 finishes - not Dippers, Chavs or Man U.

If you’re finishing in the Top 6 pretty much every season and appearing in a good sprinkling of Cup finals and semis, you should be able to grasp a few opportunities and go and win something. Woolwich have been utterly shit for pretty much the entire duration since Harry started to break into first team around 2014, but have still managed to go and win 3 FA Cups in 2014, 15 & 20.

Oh mate look it’s not about being a cuck. I just prefer to not have a top player within the club playing against his will. It’s not good for the team spirit. He wants to go?Let him go for a good offer. And rebuild.

If the offer is £150m then fair enough. But if the deal doesn’t suit Spurs financially, then it’s tough tittles!

No £80m plus two average players bollocks

I'm of the opinion that the prices for players is obscene. It has been inflated mainly by agents and owners to a lesser extent.
We really need a level playing field or we're going to see the usual suspects winning everything.
In short, I feel that a salary cap is really badly needed.
I feel that 150mil+ could be put to a much better cause. If there we're a cap, we would see the end of the era the of billionaire/oil/despot etc.
Whilst I agree with the principle of a wage cap and levelling the playing field. Will they not just find another to incentivise with a house or associated bonuses?
