The part of your quote I have left is really important I think. So I don't honestly think he is going anywhere this summer for various reasons.

He has given a hell of a lot for the club but for someone who loves the club and is a fan, to leave when we are at our lowest recent ebb feels wrong. Like taking the easy option(although I'm not saying it would be an easy choice for him).

I know its his career ultimately but he has a chance to give it one more go with whoever comes in this summer and a right rocket up Levy's arse. He is not a pace merchant and ankle permitting will be able to play at the top level well into his mid 30's so still has plenty of time on his side.

Media playing it like a last chance saloon.
 
It's a strange way to think about it, but if we signed a defender this summer on a 3 year deal till 2024 you wouldn't bat an eyelid at the length of the contract it would just seem medium term length I guess.

You not accepting any evidence unless Harry Kane comes on TV and says I want to leave is a crock with all due respect. Just so much out there, and the fact Kane has not denied any of it is all the proof you should need.

Agree.

What Kane has contributed to this club is massive and has no doubt been a big influence over the years. He was part of a TEAM which made us Tottenham fans believe that we could go on and win trophies. We backed him, we backed the team. I would be disappointed to see him leave off the back of that, especially after a pandemic season where there has been no fans in the ground.

It would be a shame to see him leave, as I can't quite get my head around how he could be one of our greatest players but leave without winning something? At least see it out 😆

it’s not happening, if Kane does go then they all agree it’s the smart move. But I still can’t see it this summer.

Totally agree, it won't happen this summer.
He will he priced out of a move, and any club that could afford him would use their money on Haaland instead. That would be much smarter business for any of them.
We will be left with a striker here against his will, who all his team mates and new manager will know does not want to be here, and no significant improvement in the playing squad to help.
He may still give his all, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a drop off in standard from him though. Not putting his body on the line for fear of injury, not dropping back into midfield to help etc, going through the motions unless the ball comes to his feet.

I don’t especially like where I work. But I am paid to do a job and do it as best I can. I’d assume a professional and England captain would do the same. Rinse and repeat next summer when he moves abroad.

and anyway, under FFP you can rule out our muggy Chetski scum friends & The Sheik club. As for United under Ole. Yeah. Ok.
