Whats Glasner all about? I've heard his name but know nothing of him
Used to work as sporting director at LASK who we faced in the EL before he took over as coach of them. Moved to Wolfsburg a few years ago and has done well with them and has brought them back to the CL for next season. But he has fallen out with the owners and wants a move.

Here's a tactical profile of him:

Do you know what? If Jimenez turns out to be OK after that awful injury, I'd be happy with him as a Kane replacement. I'm also a big fan of Callum Wilson. Thuram at BMG is a versatile forward, but I haven't seen much of him this season. I'm open to the idea of Daka (RBS).

For midfielders, I'd be taking a look at guys like Mwepu (RBS), Sangare (PSV), Bennacer (AC Milan), Boudaoui (Nice), Sanches (Lille), possibly Soumare (Lille) and Pape Matar Sarr (Metz). I like your Buendia idea.

Central defenders are a real tough one. If I could have anyone, it would be Wesley Fofana, but I think a lot of PL clubs are in a position to be able to tell us to fuck off. I like Ben Godfrey, too, but it's the same story. So, I might take a chance on Todibo (Nice). I am more open to the idea of Botman (Lille) than I was up to a couple of months ago.

I'm a massive fan of Mike Maignan (Lille's GK).

I like Lamptey. I like Aarons (but I haven't seen him since Norwich went down). I don't know why Jamal Lewis is not playing at Newcastle, but I think he's got a lot of potential. I like Perraud (LB at Brest).

I haven't seen Sarr (Watford) since they were relegated, but I was very keen on him. And I like Neto, too.

I know I haven't answered your question exactly the way you liked, but life's a bitch.

I wonder if any of the American boys here could fill me in on Chris Richards (CB on loan at Hoffenheim)? When I was looking at Sessegnon recently, he caught my eye.

Move out the six or seven wage thieves (Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Einks, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas etc) and buy the best ten or players from the championship. I would sell son too

I am desperate to see the back of Hojbjerg ( I thought it was a sad day for the club when we signed him), and I refuse to buy into the hype about Skipp until I've sat down and had a look at him for myself. Have a strong dislike for Alli. Would listen to offers for Lo Celso. Would also listen to offers for Ndombele, too, if I knew for sure that he was causing problems behind the scenes, but I'd be cheesed off because I think his potential is outrageous.
Mate, you're drunk.

Tottenham started planning for Kane's exit in February and explored the possibility of signing in-demand Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 20, from Borussia Dortmund. (Mail)

I would say that our top 4 MFers next year are likely to be GLC, Ndombele, PEH and Skipp. I don't see a good formation or style to have even 3 of those guys playing together. GLC and Ndombele don't work great together especially with PEH or Skipp as the 3rd guy with them. PEH and Skipp don;t work playing together unless Skipp has taken a massive step in terms of his overall play.

Of the players we currently have I think this...

Hojberg
Lo Celso-------------Ndombele

...Could definitely work and be our best midfield structure, compensating for their individual weaknesses and playing to their individual strengths to make the best collective solution. We just haven't seen it more than maybe once (?) and all our last three managers seemed hell bent on cramming a 4th forward bumbler into the mix at the expense of one of them and/or a Cm3 format, which is doubly wank when 3 of the forward options are fucking useless when the other team have the ball as well.

But I'd happily upgrade Hojbjerg and there are other midfielders I would love here too.

In midfield or across the entire squad?

I only watch the Premier League and Ligue 1, generally speaking. Bits and pieces of German football, so there is no encyclopaedic knowledge of the market on my part. I don't play any computer games.

There are players I absolutely do not want us to sign, players that are of interest to me (but hard to say they'd be a guarantee of success), and players I am on the fence about.

What about Calvert-Lewin as a Kane replacement? Beside a new striker I think the most important position is CB (obviously) and a good RW/CAM.

He offers very little other than scoring goals and is very reliant on other players creating those chances for him to finish. I think there is a clear floor with him but he will limit our attack with how little he can do other than finish moves created by others.

I think for his cost we could get a better player at another position to create those chances and get someone cheaper to finish them.

Blimey. Imagine the scenes if this ever happened...

Good post, lots of viable options there.

Few players I disagree on. Callum Wilson is quite mediocre, I think Newcastle is his level. Meanwhile, Sanches was shockingly bad in his last PL stint, I'm aware he's improved his confidence at Lille but it's a no from me.

Jimenez is also a risk as we have to see how he has recovered from his skull fracture. Regardless of whether we sign him I hope he gets back to his prime level.
Lamptey is another injury risk you named, he's had quite a serious injury at an early age, so fingers crossed for him.
Maignan is reportedly very close to AC Milan move, while Soumare is on the verge of Leicester move.

I do like the concept of what you're suggesting though, in that we need to take some risks with younger players if rebuilding from Kane exit.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion - even this level of horseshit - dread to think what your thoughts are on the genuinely poor players.

One thing I will say for him, he’s improved a lot - similar to how Kane evolved quickly in his early 20’s

PEH has been genuinely poor for a large part of this season. He gets a pass from me until he has a midfield partner but I’m not convinced he’s good enough. I certainly don’t think he is a DM, #8 more likely
What a load of crap. Hojbjerg was our 3rd best player this season. He fall off recently, because he played basically every match.
