Getting Conte is one thing but know this, if we miss out on Paratici and thus are stuck with Hitchen, I stress the STUCK WITH HITCHEN PART, because Daniel haggles over fees I will personally kill him... Then tea bag him.

More than anything, I expect he likes London and the competition of the PL.
The funny thing about Chelsea is he was hardly backed at all in the summer of 2016, it wasn't until the following summer when they didn't back him that it was an issue. Granted, they bought the best DM in the world in Kante, but Alonso and Luis weren't exactly world beaters until Conte coached them up.Conte is undoubtedly a top class manager.
But, I still can’t shake the feeling that this is a recipe for disaster.
I just cannot see why he would be stupid enough to take the job when he knows full well he’s not going to get anywhere close to the backing he received at either Chelsea or Inter, whom he each left for the very reason that he didn’t get backed enough!
I really just cannot see it ending well...
Tottenham are in talks with Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici.
It is understood that Spurs have made the former Inter Milan and Chelsea boss the leading candidate to replace Jose Mourinho. And they are keen to bring former Juventus sporting director Paratici in too.
Mourinho left the north London club in April and they have been looking for a replacement ever since.
Conte left Inter last month after steering them to their first Serie A title for 11 years. The Italian has also previously won the Premier League with Chelsea and Serie A with Juventus during a glittering managerial career.
Who is Paratici?
Paratici was previously Chief Football Officer for Juventus and worked with Conte at the club.
He left Juventus this summer and was immediately linked to Spurs, who have been searching for a director of football as well as a new manager.
Conte is also way more flexible tactically then some people give him credit for.
Look how he setup Juventus compared to Chelsea compared to Inter. He has some core principles but he utilizes talent well.
Agreed - I think people are making some pretty big assumptions on Conte and comparing him to Mourinho when the reality is much different.Alot of the players he brought in at Inter are players that most of us would have turned our noses up at. Lukaku and Sanchez for example were awful coming from United. His coaching improved them.
I think it's a bit of a myth that Conte is a chequebook manager. He built some really good teams from fuck all and only seems to get frustrated when the board won't give him the control/backing to push on even further.
He's most comfortable with 3 at the back, but I think what he wants and expects out of the midfield and forwards changes depending on the talent he has.People forget Chelsea started the season badly the year he won it. He then switched to, iirc , a 3-4-3 formation and won 17 in a row. We ended the 17.
We pressed high and compressed the field and were able to possess the ball a lot, sure. What? We played one of the best football in the country under Poch lol
Only in the last season we played poor.
I like the guy and think he's a good coach, but the fact that many people seriously want a guy like Potter over Conte is a great example of this.Doubts about conte is why we win fuck all. Hes the best appointment there is and we wont see wanks again. We dont need poch and another nice guy. We need someone who dont take shit and weed out crap
We need a DoF, have done for ages but just because we are now linked to one I fail to see why people are getting excited about it owing to the fact they know absolutely fuck all about him. (I include myself in that). This story has legs, imo. Conte won't be able to beat Levy's door down, since he'll be putting a fellow Italian in the way to soak up the pressure.
We will be seeing a lot of that with Dier, Winks and Sissoko in his team
