The funny thing about Chelsea is he was hardly backed at all in the summer of 2016, it wasn't until the following summer when they didn't back him that it was an issue. Granted, they bought the best DM in the world in Kante, but Alonso and Luis weren't exactly world beaters until Conte coached them up.
The squads he had under Juventus, Chelsea, Inter were very different but he was able to utilize the talent they had to maximize results.
He probably loses his fucking shit in two years, but he's not going to try and burn down the club as much as just quit in a rage.
This story has legs, imo. Conte won't be able to beat Levy's door down, since he'll be putting a fellow Italian in the way to soak up the pressure.
Conte is a massive coup. Give him the funds and a project. This could be a match made in heaven. Very exciting
People forget Chelsea started the season badly the year he won it. He then switched to, iirc , a 3-4-3 formation and won 17 in a row. We ended the 17.
Doubts about conte is why we win fuck all. Hes the best appointment there is and we wont see wanks again. We dont need poch and another nice guy. We need someone who dont take shit and weed out crap
Agreed - I think people are making some pretty big assumptions on Conte and comparing him to Mourinho when the reality is much different.
Can't wait to be told in a year or two how yet another winning manager failed to win anything with Spurs.
I don't mind if we're not playing the same style of football as Brighton do, as long as the players are committed and we do balance our attack with defence, that's good for me. I don't want to have to watch our forwards operating from the halfway line. Son ran himself into the ground last year covering for Davis and Winks et al. That won't happen with Conte, I would think.
He's most comfortable with 3 at the back, but I think what he wants and expects out of the midfield and forwards changes depending on the talent he has.
And conte hates the chavs. Major key for me.

I dunno, I get frustrated by the “attacking football” stuff which seems like it just ends up as a proxy for other concerns.
I like the guy and think he's a good coach, but the fact that many people seriously want a guy like Potter over Conte is a great example of this.
We need a DoF, have done for ages but just because we are now linked to one I fail to see why people are getting excited about it owing to the fact they know absolutely fuck all about him. (I include myself in that).
