Few notes in France vs Netherlands u21 game today.

Dutch keeper Bijlow(23) looks really good. Big lad, no highlight saves but looked like a properly composed and competent goalkeeper. Botman wasn't great. I've liked him at times this year but (much the same as Anderson) I wouldn't view him as our #1 cb signing.

Stengs was excellent the first 65 mins, glided about the place, carried well and linked up beautifully. I'd need to see more of him but I think he'd fit in really well at Brighton. Boadu scored two, is a dangerous player, but has lot to work on, Germany would be a good spot for him.

France were disappointing. I don't rate Odsonne Edouard anywhere near what some do. Ditto Ikone, though he's a good player.
Soumare disappointing. Tchouameni is or will be top top class. Aouar a bit passive. I'm a bit cold on Faivre. Gouiri wasn't great when he came on, but I've a lot of faith in him going forward. Caquaret came on as a sub and looked the best player on show. French LB Mouassa looked decent.

To be precise: Roman (18 years) v Levy (20 years)

League titles 5-0
FA cups 5-0
League cups 3-1
Champions leagues 2-0
UFEA cup 2-0

Final score 17-1
When you see that, it actually boggles the mind that Chelsea fans still see us as a rival, they even have that cringey "We hate Tottenham" to the tune of the Liquidator when the teams come out.

If our relationship with them was 17 pots to 1 we would give them as little thought as somebody like a Watford or Brentford.

It's embarrassing to see that ratio, we aren't a big club. We are a piddly club with a world class stadium.

I have got many criticisms of Levy and Joe but this just the reality of money. Other big clubs, Villa, Everton, Newcastle even Woolwich are now in the same boat as us.

City and Chelsea are not big clubs in terms of fan base or history, they are what happens when vast wealth get poured into a team over a long period. They can sack any manager at any point and pay for any manager no matter what the cost, they can sell players at a loss and buy multiple big name players easily.

The only way we can compete is to have Lewis sell to a multi billionaire who wants to look good by spending money. The biggest two clubs in England are Liverpool and United and even they struggle with the situation as it is.

Our best bet would be to become a Dortmund style club. Buy the best young talents and over a few seasons build a squad then pounce, we don’t have the cash for short cuts.

While I agree that money is the root cause of the problems with football.

Lets not forget when we were at our height and pomp in the 60's we were the richest club in the land, Liverpool for decades were the richest club, then United.

Hasn't it always been about money to some degree or another?

Nobody will care if Chelsea or City are doing it off the back of oligarchs either, they are making history in the here and now.

Us, Villa, Newcastle, Everton, we are a footnote.

Our only hope then is to wave our knickers at a super rich guy who wants to make a name for himself.

That's one option, the other is too accept that the club is going nowhere and get another hobby

Cheers for this. What channel was this on, I’m trying to find the game to have a watch.

European Play-offs: Crusaders manager Baxter accepts apology from officials after 'incredibly difficult' penalty injustice.

Ouch. Fair play to big Stan for taking it so well.

(For reference, this would be North Belfast's equivalent of us against the Scum etc...but a bit more hatred.)

On a 4G pitch that shows the mark where a ball would come down too.

Not a Crues fan, but refs aren't doing them any favours, especially at penalty shootouts
