It doesn’t really work like that though does it? There’s no point for City in swapping one great player for another. That’s just standing still and losing money.

To be honest, if he goes anywhere in England, I’d rather it be City because they are already light years ahead of us. He goes to any of our other rivals and he makes much more of a difference to us/them dynamic (at least if he stays fit for two or three years).

I’m not sure who they’d let us have who I’d get excited about, but Bernardo Silva would be one? Laporte and Mendy would be others I’d take that would solve big issues for us.
Sure, of course. I appreciate it doesn’t work like that. The point is more that we shouldn’t take players for the sake of it. Is Sterling really what we need? I worry that he’s the sort of player who really benefits from those around him, rather than single handedly improves the team. Jesus, likewise. Would either of these be players we targeted, independent of Kane? I don’t think we’d go near them.

Agree on City being the better destination. As long as Kane doesn’t go to UTD.

I’d take Laporte and Mahrez. I didn’t realise the latter was 30. But, regardless, I think he’s excellent and would go a long way to resolving the right side of our attack.

They have a chance and possibly the best manager in the world, on a free transfer deal, and won't pay 3 million more for his wages FFS.... that's only 9m if he stays for 3 years. Nothing for a free signing of that quality.

Amazing how so many refuse to believe any good news, but as soon as bad news is mentioned they instantly believe it all.

Conte's representatives would have asked for more than what the actually expect.

Levy would have offered less than he is actually prepared to pay.

Both parties will negotiate to middle ground where both are happy.

It's standard business that every manager and club will do daily.

If it is £3m difference, they'll settle on 1.5/2m

Its Happening The Office GIF by NBC

The French bloke mentioned there was something wrong with Iraqis at PSG - bit racist!

We need to move on from Eriksen. Get a younger model in.

Buendia, Sabitzer...
Yeah, just thinking about what's practical. We are working on a shoestring remember... If Conte didn't like Eriksen, then it's never going to happen... no point. I just wonder if Eriksen had proved himself to Conte in the end, like players sometimes do. If he earnt his respect, or changed his mind, it's the sort of thing that matters and he could plausibly return, because he knows the club and has a relationship with the manager.
