I think there a fair chance we will neither end up with Conte or Poch, we'll spend time trying to chase other top names, get none and continue with Mason as interim manager for the season.

The tweets earlier (I know, I know) said €15m a year after tax, so Im guessing thats substantially more as a base salary.

Plus €2.5m in bonuses.

Really cant say Levy isnt putting his money where is mouth is on this, could easily have got a manager in on a third of that....
All depends on the transfer kitty

poor john travolta GIF

If Im not mistaken Conte is likely to be the highest paid manager in the world, if not then very close.

Transfer kitty aside, thats a big show of faith and putting money on the table.

And, assuming Conte does come in, said transfer kitty will have been agreed and only emphasise the comittment being made, IMO
Yes I get that but the noises coming out atm seem to be saying that the transfer kitty is a sticking point as is the amount of coaches Conte wants

If Levy was fully on board it would have been announced by now

The noises coming out are clickbait and little more, this is a massive deal - for both parties - was never going to happen over night.

Actually it's not. Not really.

Paying Conte 20m or whatever P/A then sacking him in 18 months or so is a lot cheaper than keeping Harry Kane and building the kind of team around him a club of our wealth and ticket prices deserve.

Tuchel to the Chavs happened pretty quickly

You may be right
Who knows but it sounds like Levy quibbling over spending money

I believe that has happened before......

Tuchels deal was temporary, they needed a manager, he needed work, almost try before you buy.

He signed an extension today actually, so obviously theyve been able to work out a longer term deal.

Id say the intent here with us is not to be fucking about again in a couple of seasons, get everything lined up now, expectations agreed, and make sure its a deal that can stick.

And it is, IMO, a massive deal for us and him, so of course itll take time to make sure all are happy

If.......IF..... Levy is really going to implement a modern football structure within the club and give Conte enough backing to make the team competitive... what a season this could be.

I refuse to get excited until I hear from Levy himself about our plans.
We shall focus on the recruitment of a new Head Coach. We are acutely aware of the need to select someone whose values reflect those of our great Club and return to playing football with the style for which we are known – free-flowing, attacking and entertaining – whilst continuing to embrace our desire to see young players flourish from our Academy alongside experienced talent.

Is anyone reporting the fund injection besides Eurosport? I know Gold and DanKP have wondered where the money is coming from, but even a stadium rights deal isn't an injection because it's an annual sponsorship.

Exactly, our owners stick to their budget, whatever the size is each summer. We are not going to spend what we don't have. A manager like Conte will never be happy with that, if he has a budget of 50 mill he will want 100 mill, if Levy gives him 100 mill he will want 150 mill. Also he doesn't care much about young players, the academy etc. He has a different philosophy to a Ten Hag/Rangnick combo. It seems Levy is going down the Chelsea route of employing big names and if they don't work out just sacking them and moving onto the next one.
And look at the silverware Chelsea have won since we last won a trophy. I know what i'd prefer.
