Anyone who thinks all the rumors about Conte and Poch are just to get season ticket holders to renew is clueless. There's a long waiting list for season tickets and, even if Mickey Mouse was our target (is he available, by the way?), they'd get snapped up anyway.

So stop with the conspiracy theories already.
Sorry but it's the height of naivety to suggest Levy hasn't been stoking these rumours to that end. It doesn't mean the interest isn't real but all you need do is compare the level of secrecy around JM's appointment and contrast with this one.

I'm guessing you are early in your spurs fandom, as this pattern, be it manager, mystery massive investments and warchests, Rivaldo or who/whatever happens every single year in a crecendo up to season ticket renewal then dies a slow death starting the very next day.

There is basically zero possibility that is coincidence after 20 years of rinse and repeat of this shit, astonishing to me that anyone doesn't see it, sorry (Dan?).

I imagine this is Hercules walking to his computer to chat a load of utter bollocks

I agree with all of it

Terrible squad Juve has put together with too much relying on crippled Ronaldo, but I guess fogueres fogueres would know better if there’s anything else than Chiesa to get excited about in that group of players

Rangnick would also be my go to guy right now, and not as a coach but DoF, since there isn’t a lot to salvage from this squad, and Conte would face some of the same issues as Mourinho

I think there are two packages I'd be happy with at this point...

Conte/Paratici - Elite coach and to me it signals they will be back in a big way. I know we all want to see young players come through and great attacking football, but to take that next step to being an elite club we need to start acting like one instead of like a midtable club.

Ten Hag/Rangnick - IF we aren't going the first route, then we need to become world class at going the young/hungry route. These two could get it done.

Either are acceptable options in my opinion.

Easily Ten Hag/Rangnick is the best option for us

They're all bullshitters, but that one is another level. Completely convinced of his own importance, unwavering in his opinion and worst of all, completely incapable of coping with criticism and questions.

They're really all as bad as eachother. Except him. Massive issues.
I actually find him quite amusing. Any dickhead that listens to him deserves what they get.

The cunt that irritates me is A&C. Protects his clown car of ITK throbbers and then starts e-begging for donations towards his husband’s sex change operation.

BC - more generally, I know you are a strong advocate of the DoF structure. The argument for the structure is that the DoF appoints the Head Coach, and is responsible for signing players both to fit the Head Coach's preferred tactical system but also for the medium & long term ensuring some continuity when that coach leaves.

However, in this case, it seems Levy is appointing both Conte and Paratici. Indeed ,rather than Paratici recommending Conte for the role, it seems more likely that Conte recommended Paratici (even though there are claims we looked at Paratici for the DoF role a few years ago).

I think the two appointments may well be linked, but I guess there is a chance we'd been eyeing up Paratici for a while knowing his contract was not getting renewed, having tried to bring him in a while ago supposedly?

As I've said above, I'm not convinced by either/both of these (Paratici/Conte) being a good fit for us. And I'm really not convinced by Paratici's oeuvre.

I think there is a good case for getting a transfer expert who Conte trusts into the club, but my suspicion is that Paratici will be performing a role similar to the "Head Scout / Thrash Out Deals With Agents & Clubs" one that Baldini performed in our "Magnificent Seven" summer.

I don't see this as the appointment of a true DoF, with all the powers believers in the system would grant them.

And fwiw - I'm entirely agnostic about DoFs. My experience has taught me that management structures & restructures are utter bollocks.

It's the calibre & judgement of the person performing the job that matters, not the structure. So if your Chief Scout has crap judgement, then you will sign crap players.

Ditto for your DoF.

Good people will always be preferable, but I'm a big believer in the structure, especially in the business of football which has such a fluid, transient and chaotic nature.

It's the most "us" for sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the one that gets us the best results. I guess that's the distinction I am trying to draw.
Effective scouting and recruitment, exciting football, feel good factor around the club, the results will follow. We have to create our own identity and stick to it, like someone else said try to be the Dortmund of the PL is a good example to aim for.
