Listening to the German players on TV and the German fans around Wembley...... They are confident that they're going to nail us.

The difference between them and us is that we're totally desperate of some kind of success....... Massive pressure.

They won't be as nervous because they know they'll be back up there in the next tournament or the next or the next..... They're not as desperate for success as we are.

The pressure is totally on us
It's tough being a Germany fan. Seven years of hurt now.

This nonsense about our players 'not letting the occasion get to them'. Did Scotland play out of their skins by 'not letting the occasion get to them'?

LET THE OCCASION GET TO YOU, LADS. STUFF THE B******S!!!

Germany play a high line so will be chances for Saka and Sterling to run in behind. Sort of feels like Kane will be the only one that's going to be playing balls in behind though and he'll be almost always up against 2 CBs. Feel like it's going to be another game that we'll be crying out for Grealish to come on as early as possible

Kane will hopefully do what he often does for Spurs, and drop deep and try to find Sterling and Saka in behind. Doesn't matter if Kane isn't scoring if he's pulling the strings and creating for others. He can still be a threat from set-pieces if we can actually deliver some of decent quality this game.

He is the only player on the pitch who can pass the ball so he will have to drop deep as he won't be getting any quality service playing up front.

It seems odd to play for penalties right from the start, especially when you have the superior talent to your opponent.

With that midfield and Saka and Sterling beside Kane should be exempt form criticism because that is basically him surrounded by a pile of crap but I imagine there will still be criticism when he gets zero service and is forced to be a one man attack.

Bet hes gutted he didn't bring Dier along, could have played 3 DMS! :dier:

Can't say I'm too impressed with that England team.

No Grealish, Foden or Mount is stupid IMO.

Mount was never going to start this game. If he could he would have been on the team-sheet as Southgate loves him. It is a surprise not to see Foden though, but it's either him or Saka and Saka was excellent against the Czech's for large parts. So while I'm surprised to see Saka, you can't really blame Southgate for going for him.

There's a fair possibility that we could go out today, at the knockout stages, having scored only 2 goals in the entire competition and not really looking like we could have scored more. That would be dismal.
