Way i see it on virtually no net spend and no stadium poch nearly got us to the pinnacle of football. He knew we needed a rebuild and exhausted every last drop. Asked levy for a rebuild and it was too big for him. Levy runs us like a high street betting shop. Money ticking along then someone walks in and wants to lump on substantially and refuses the bet as its too big. Still think we have the trauma of nearly going bust in 1991.

Oh finally Hercules is weighing in with some hot ITK
He's back!

Was he an outstanding prospect?
When we signed Sanchez he was our record signing.
Until we signed Ndombele.
I think Soldado was also a record signing at the time-maybe I'm wrong.
So pardon me if I don't want to spend loads of money on players especially a player who has had one good season it appears and whose owning club agreed to sell for £12m.

This is certainly not itk but I am unreliably informed Paratrici's constant propensity to use said phone is down to his affection for Dr Hook ......"and the operator says 40 cents more, for the next 3 players. Please Mr Levy you just gotta talk to him it'll only take you a while"
:levywhoa:

It will happen this deal imo. Just brinkmanship by atalanta who have a reputation for being awkward. Still have month of window left. Not ideal though having city first game as straight away have to have our A game. Do think we will win that game though or at worst draw.

There may be a month left but no one other than cuntstain Levy wants it going on a month.
Player and Nuno will want it done ASAP so they get get ready for the season.
Atalanta will want it done ASAP so they can use the funds to replace him before their season kicks off.
Whoever they want to replace him will have a club that wants to sort their defence out.

But baldilocks will be sitting in his office telling everyone to wait it out, as eventually, Atalanta will get desperate.
Such a bellend.
In that time the player will get the hump and either sign for someone else or sign a new deal at Atalanta.
The our so called ITK crowd will say "we tried but it was too difficult"

Rough translation is and will always be "we waste time on players we can't afford"

We seem to get turned over more than any other cunt we get a player pay a fortune and he ends up a flop or it just doesnt work, we miss out on a player cheaper than the one we end up with and turns out a success.

Who is prudent? Ben White is £50m, Vestergaard is 29 and terrible, Milenkovic was apparently dreadful last season, Wolfsberg aren't selling Lacroux, Kounde would cost even more and is going to Chelsea. Every signing is a risk but just going for 3rd or 4th choice cheap punts is a sure way of ending up with this seasons Fazio or Stambouli.
Nowhere did I mention we should go for 3rd or 4th choice. I'm just saying that, just because someone is our top choice, it doesn't mean we pay anything that gets quoted.

And I'm sure that there is some risk profile that is used with transfers where a whole bunch of stuff is evaluated and a price is determined above which the risk just outweighs the cost. E.g. if probability of player X being a hit is 10%, we will only pay 5 million. If probability of player Y being a hit is 75%, we will pay 40 million. And of course there is a cap as to how much we will pay, based on our finances and other squad needs.

Now, if we have assessed Romero's probability of being a hit at 65% and are willing to bet 45 million on that, then I do not see how we would say "OK, we'll pay you 60 million," even if our cap for a CB was 60 million.

I'm just spitballing here, and maybe that's not how the club does it, but that's how I would do it.
