Soldado was a failure true but as proved by other clubs like Liverpool or Chelsea you can spend big and have players perform to their potential. If Romerio is the elite centre back he is hyped up to be and a level or two above any other player we could get, you’d think it would be wise long term to try to find a way. I’d rather we spend less but is there a cheap centre back of that level?
Don’t waste your time, mate

This is where mitchell left us a few years back. Offering targets after hard scouting but got rebuffed by levy. In the end mitchell walked. Did say a few weeks back patrici might get pissed off with levy as time goes on. Champagne tastes, beer money.

Would you look at that, so when a player would rather lie down and practise pissing in his own mouth than join us (Kounde) we'll have no problem agreeing a deal with the club, yet when a player wants to join we'll piss around for eeks offering €10m less than his club wants...

We've really mastered the art of this pretending we're trying to sign quality players business...

why is it always 10m difference same with dybala same with grealish, its like it always happens to us, just fucking pay it
Not defending Levy, but its easy enough to say "just pay it" on any single deal in a vacuum. But everything has a knockon. If you pay over one 1 or 2 transfers here and there, it costs you a full player elsewhere. Or maybe you don't have the wage budget to extend a player like Kane or Son's contract and keep them a bit longer, so signing player X (who is no guarantee to pan out) costs you an important established piece.

Levy, of course, has definitely fucked up our transfer strategy. But people really dumb things down quite often in analysis. Its a pretty complex business.
