Even without Sammy??

I can see this from two perspectives. The first is that Atalanta know we really want Romero and decided to jack the price up on the guy at the last minute. The second is that Atalanta says "we want 55". Levy says "how about 43?"
"We want 55."
"How about 47".
"55"
"52?"
"Fuck you asshole. Its 65 now."

I really hope this isn't the case, but it seems that way. Only way to deal with it is to pay it and not be such a PITA next time (lol, as if!)

What if the price keeps on increasing after it's been agreed...? That's what "apparently" happened in this deal according to various ITK claims (or should we say guess).
Spurs simply aren't Man City.
Why did they increase the price? Maybe the bald cunt offered them a 10 year payment plan??

Maybe if the bald cunt started the negotiations with good faith we wouldn't be in this position 3 weeks later

But what if that extra few million helps us get Romero or wink’s replacement over the line? It is all well and good saying take the lower offer but no club behaves like that when they are trying to shift money around from deal to deal. The ones who aren’t Man City or Chelsea anyway.
For some folks we should take any scraps thrown our way when selling, but when we're buying players we should pay whatever ridiculous amount we are quoted.

And on top of that, they claim that Levy is utterly clueless when it comes to business.

I don't think anyone is saying Levy is a clueless businessman.

He's clueless when it comes to running a competitive football club.

I know absolutely nothing about our transfer status but I find it very hard to believe we would let Toby go unless we were pretty sure we had a decent replacement lined up. It's not like he went for big money. If all financials were agreed could it just be work permit or visa holding up an announcement?

I'm still hoping we're also looking at the Dier situation as it's pretty dier...

I'll judge our transfer success once the window closes. Lots of teams will be impacted by the Euros, Copa America and the Olympics. It's going to be a slow and fragmented start for many teams, not just us.
We did exactly the same thing with Vertonghen so nothing would surprise me.
