While I understand that some people think that others are overreacting and are very willing to look past this with Harry, I think we need to remember that this isn't just about the fans and him.
He is/was the vice-captain of the team and his actions have had to have a significant impact on morale and planning for the entire team. A week has now gone by that could have been used to work on tactics, formations, and working with new players. We have a new coach that still hasn't been able to meet with him face to face and now has a significantly larger challenge in trying to plan for the season that is rapidly approaching. He has set back the entire team by at least a week at this point, and at a minimum he has disrupted the entire dressing room by his actions here. If not for the reasons already listed, it would also be the personal relationships and team building that we desperately need. He has isolated himself from the rest of the team and told them before a ball is kicked that he doesn't want to play alongside them anymore.
I understand the emotional aspect of wanting to give him a chance and the appeal of wanting to brush it under the rug, but doing so in such a willing manner undermines the impact of what he has just done.
