I'd rather keep Kane than buy those 2 players who have never played in the Prem, one of which has only had half a good season in professional football
One day Kane is leaving.
Every window after this we'll get less. Every window that passes the younger players we want to buy will increase in value.
I don't know why so many people can't comprehend this.
And he's made it abundantly clear he wants out so let's get the most we can get for him now. We can turn down £130m and act all big bollocks but this will happen again in January. And again next summer and every window after.

And what do we gain from it?

Let's try an example.

Newcastle fans were all pissed that they sold Andy Cole to United. £7m or so was cheap.
6 months later they used that £7m to buy £15m Alan Shearer and he scored shit loads.
No one cares anymore about the Cole fee or that they lost his goals

The same logic you are applying here says sell Kane for £120m and then buy someone next year for £185m+. I'm convinced. Levy will definitely sanction that.

This isn't 1995. And we aren't getting the best goal scorer in the league to his hometown club. He's already here.

Goals assists & having the league's best attacker in our team, that's what we gain, being more competitive

We will ask for more than £100mil next summer

The logic is that players are available to buy now but they may not be a year or 2 in the future when Kane ultimately does leave, which he will.

If Newcastle didn't sell Cole to United, they wouldn't have been able to buy Shearer and then the only place for Shearer to go would have been United.

They don't tend to have Spurs shirts in the Nike shop at Bluewater, Orpington or Lakeside though.
Chelsea shirts. Barcelona shirt. Probably be PSG shirts now. But no Spurs.

One honest question - why do you bother coming here and dragging Spurs and everything Spurs related to mud?

In my view it's a discussion platform mainly for Spurs fans. If you find that we are so much weaker, more pointless, less valuable and in every way inferior club then...why bother? Pick one of the of listed ones - PSG, Barca or Chelsea and praise them in their forums. Rather than putting Spurs down and them up in Spurs forums.

Fun fact, in 1995 we finished 7th with 62 points, the same as last season.

How the fuck has the Nike shops within touching distance of Tottenham not stocking Spurs shirts led you to make this post?

Are you a bit simple?

22 teams so 42 matches. Less PPG.

Crazy season though. 4 down, 2 up, all the Spurs drama of 12 point deductions, out of the cup, Klinmania, Ossie and the famous five, Ossie getting sacked, back in the FA Cup then getting to the Semi, 12 point deduction over turned. Gerry Francis' mullet.

To everyone saying £120m isn't enough....

What if this summer we can use that £120m to replace him but next summer, any suitable player is unobtainable or excessively more expensive?

You need to stop being so binary about this. There's more to consider than just a fee.
A fee that will never be official or public either. You won't know what we sell him for other than press rumours.
120m is not sufficient for Harry Kane.

How did that work out for Newcastle and Keegan?
Well, in case you missed it, Alan Shearer went on to become Newcastles all time highest scorer, the premier leagues highest scorer, multiple golden boot winner. Keegan left for no apparent reason and Newcastles continued to qualify for the Champions League for a number of seasons and gained a decent fanbase in the process.
Their problems came, funny enough, as Shearer got older and more injury prone. They didn't/couldn't sell him so couldn't replace him. Eventually he retired and they went down.

So we want to copy that model?

I seriously doubt this is true.

(not even sure that Bluewater has a Nike store)

There are stores. They just don't have the shirts to collect. All I can do is have it delivered to a local Londis to pick up.
