Match Tottenham v. Manchester City (Sun Aug. 15 16:30 BST)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thousands going to this game and unlikely to see one new player. Just the same misfits from last year minus Toby and Kane.

We might dig up a result but it's hard to feel enthused.

As crazy as it sounds, I have noticed when players grow their hair out after having good seasons as a young player, they struggle.

Obviously I don’t think it’s related but just a weird thing I have noticed across all sports.
Correlation is not causation, but I think there's something to this. It's probably more like they think they've arrived, so they start doing 'signature' stuff, like Beckhams' white boots or Dele's hair. Buying their own PR, so to speak. Maybe that undermines their 'it's not about me, I give my body to the cause' mindset and they aren't that player anymore.

It's different if they are highly skill-based, like say Neymar. Confidence is everything to those guys. Dele was more grit and skill. He's lost some grit and determination, but if you were a 20-something millionaire, banging Pep's daughter, it'd be easy to put your feet up. Well, son, we're not paying you to do that, so bust a gut!

I think we'll see some improvement this season, but I don't know if it will last. Hopefully he's settling down.

Seems about right. This is my vote.

Lloris
Serge / Romero / Rodon / Reg
Gio / Skipp / PEH / Dele
Son / Kane
442 on paper, but 352 in play.

Gil and Lucas as Subs. Poss. even Lucas for Gio at start.
I’d love to see a Rodin/Romero pairing, but it just doesn’t seem realistic. It bothers me that we haven’t seen Rodon at all this preseason, and maybe they will feel it is too early for Romero? I saw that he was on the cover of the match day program, so maybe he will.

I’m trying my utmost to get excited, but the circumstances really make it difficult…

-The likely only new player in our team is going to be Oliver Skipp
- Sanchez and Dier are still going to be our centre backs
- Our best central midfielder is too fat and lazy to even probably get a spot on the bench
- Our best player doesn’t want to play for us
-We have once again failed to sort out massive squad issues at right back and back up striker
- we have a new manager who although he seems a really nice bloke, nobody wanted and was probably about our 7th or 8th option at least

Fair play to people who have managed to remain optimistic despite all the above, but this is by far the most despondent I’ve ever felt at the start of a season supporting Spurs.

That’s all you need to know boys. Even the official media team are basically predicting a loss. Translation- “we expect to lose today, but we will give it our all “ - an absolute joke. A football club with no balls, steel or any sort of confidence which goes to show how far we have fallen. I expect supporters to be negative, but the official media team and the club ? Utterly pathetic

So cringe.

Since when does any football side not try to give everything, for fucks sake?
