Match Tottenham v. Manchester City (Sun Aug. 15 16:30 BST)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m trying my utmost to get excited, but the circumstances really make it difficult…

-The likely only new player in our team is going to be Oliver Skipp
- Sanchez and Dier are still going to be our centre backs
- Our best central midfielder is too fat and lazy to even probably get a spot on the bench
- Our best player doesn’t want to play for us
-We have once again failed to sort out massive squad issues at right back and back up striker
- we have a new manager who although he seems a really nice bloke, nobody wanted and was probably about our 7th or 8th option at least

Fair play to people who have managed to remain optimistic despite all the above, but this is by far the most despondent I’ve ever felt at the start of a season supporting Spurs.

We simply cannot afford a thinking. That would be really depressing
.

Thousands going to this game and unlikely to see one new player. Just the same misfits from last year minus Toby and Kane.

We might dig up a result but it's hard to feel enthused.
If this was any other supposed “big club” the fans would be absolutely up in arms at the way their ownership has allowed us to fall apart over the last few years.

ENICs decisions alone over the last number of years are the reason we are in the absolute mess we are in now, make no mistake.

It should not take a thrashing to make our fans irate today. From the first whistle Levy and ENIC should be told exactly what we think of them today. I’d bet my bottom dollar it won’t happen though.

A football club with no balls, steel or any sort of confidence which goes to show how far we have fallen. I expect supporters to be negative, but the official media team and the club ? Utterly pathetic
Sad truth is we ain't really a football cub at all now mate. Just the "Anchor Tennants" in the new ( naming rights pending) multi sports and entertainment complex.
This was their dream. This is their reality

I just don’t have the energy to be depressed, angry, or so damn pessimistic at the start of the season. We have some new blood in the team, a new coach and system, and continuing at looking to improve the team.

This was never going to be a quick fix. If anyone thought we were going to be suddenly challenging for the title after a single summer, I think you need to reset your expectations.

Trains running late, not even at Tottenham Hale yet!
The flag is the real Terry Naylor's flag, was there for his book signing last week.
You mean there’s more than one Nutter Naylor?….
We need to pick one and stick with it, start a thread with a poll, “who’s the real Nutter-Naylor Nutter-Naylor ?”
A-Nutter- Naylor
B- Nutter- Naylor

vs Villa was a docile occasion....... You may well be right about today too..... If so one can only conclude that match-day fans don't feel as embittered as some of the voices on the internet.

I've said a number of times; I'd wholeheartedly respect any fan movement, whether I chose to take part in it or not...... Not much to be seen despite years of angry posts tho'.

Perhaps we will see a weak attendance today; but it'll be hard to conclusively guage that as a protest or not given all the existing Covid baggage.
