14 players signed early in EIGHT years (thats SIXTEEN windows)

We've probably signed 180 players in that time

It seems like we have one or two primary targets that we get early. After that, we're probably waiting until August. This window doesn't seem to be any different.
 
Some signings are early, some are late. A lot of the targets Spurs fans want are coveted by richer and/or bigger clubs.

If we manage to sign Soldado and Villa but not till August, I won't be wasting time getting mad about it.

That's a bad example. Man city probably wouldn't sell to us and Llorente wouldn't choose us over Juve while going on a free. That's the luxury of being a club like Juve that we don't have.

It's not like we can fucking kidnap players.
They also have to want to be here, besides the clubs agreeing a fee.

Then, by the way, you have to pay their wages.
The transfer fee isn't the only variable here.

Wasn't the Holtby business done early on in the window as well? We locked him up early and then decided we needed him now and not wait for the summer.

Hardly, sammy. Changing it to players still at the club means there are less to list, such as Modric. Also, 2005 isn't some arbitrary year, it's just the earlier year that a player in our squad was signed early.
 
Whatever. The point the thread makes is nonsense as most players are not signed early, and we have missed several important targets by waiting.

So celebrating a myth that Levy signs players early, based on 14 out of 82 is stupid. No?
