Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think it said it all in pre season training where, in a clip, we saw Dier give him a bit of a whack
Nothing serious and he wasn’t hurt but just lay down and didn’t look interested in rejoining the session

And that’s just typical of him
It might be typical, but taking one incident in practice and making blanket statements about a footballer feels a little bit unfair to me. Plus one who's super talented.

It really is up to the player, nobody can do it for him. If he trains hard, Nuno will begin to include him in the squad, even if it's a cup game. If he plays well, then he'll get a chance.

If he's not bothered, then he won't. But remember, he is being paid £200k a week. A little bit of pride in his work wouldn't go amiss.

That was the only one I saw in training and I mentioned it as it typified his give up attitude but when I’ve seen him play it’s been the same

He does the bare minimum

Few things wind me up more than players that clearly have a mentality where they believe they are much better than they actually are. Ndombele falls into that category.

Because we wont sign anyone!
sad on a budget GIF

probably the problem. if he doesnt have that natural love for the game then hes already got what he wanted and thats a fat pay packet and he doesnt even have to do anything now. even if he doesnt love the game you would think he would have some respect for his employers and look to give a bit in return for his wages, only asking for a bit of diligence for 200k but then maybe thats too much to ask. you cant force someone to be passionate or conscientious, that has to come from within.

if it is a passion/attitude issue, then this is a massive failure by ENIC/Levy for not vetting things out. if i recall, it was between bruno and ndombele and we went with ndombele because levy didn't want to pay an extra few milion for bruno.

100%. when paying tens of millions for a footballer you would think they would look into them a little deeper than just what they are like on a pitcha few times. need to be looking into the character of these people as that is massive. hopefully a lesson has been learned here.
