Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s been 278 pages since he last scored would you believe!
He always has a slow start. He hasn't suddenly become a shit player over night contrary to what some loons on here are saying, obviously he has to get his head right. But once he does he will be back in the goals soon enough.

We have far bigger issues at the club than Kane, one of them being the manager the other being the giant creative hole in our midfield.

They never offered £120 million though, they offered £75m by all accounts.
That's a fair difference in valuation to bridge and they didn't bridge it.

I think most people would have begrudgingly accepted it if the club sold for £150m and re-invested it all back in players in the summer.

But as that was never on the cards we are where we are.
I don't think that's a far reflection of what happened.
Their opening bid was £100M (75+25), and Fabrizio Romano said that they informally bid £130M later in the window, but Levy did not even reply.

Different to what I heard, I heard there was never a bid above £75m

I Have No Idea Shrug GIF

Who said this?
All reliable sources I read suggested differently. First bid was £75M but £25M in add ons (but with Man City, most add ons should be achieved).

Also initial bid is normally nowhere near final price. Given Romano said informal bid of £130M, I do think something north of £100 was certainly possible.

Poch was a fool for picking him and Me Me Me Kane showed that he felt his personal experience was more important than the club by claiming to be fit and match ready when he wasn’t.

Do you think it’s park football and they just turn up and wait to see who’s picked?
There would have been dialogue for weeks.

The two of them fucked us up.
And here you go again…..no it’s not Kane’s fault that others were shit. That’s their own fault.
Just like it’s Kane’s fault when he is shit.

Ridiculous “Sissoko did a handball so Kane couldn’t have a shot” lol

I always feel that Kanes bonus based contract is the problem and the reason he plays when, for one reason or another, we'd rather he didn't.

I doubt his basic salary reflects his status. In order to get the max amount, he would need to start games, score goals, win matches etc. If we sit him on the bench and he doesn't get any of that, he kicks off. That's my gut feel.

Probably a lot of truth in that

Out of interest - when did you decide Kane was shit - before or after he scored 200+ goals for Spurs

Also - please rate him in Top 10 all time Spurs strikers

Legit question

It's true stats are now the be-all and end-all for some. David Ginola won PFA and FWA Player of the Year in 1999.

He had 3 premier league goals and 3 assists that season.

He would never win those awards now with those numbers.
Despite being one of the most entertaining players on the planet

For a long time back then he was the only player worth watching in our side

Fine I’m glad you agreed but we’re too scared to back me up lol

City don’t want Kane, try and remember that part. There is nobody bidding for Kane, because they watch him, and then they watch the likes of Haaland.

Scared... LOL, just not bothered after stating my position a few times.

Nobody can deny that Kane has been VERY poor this season. He is getting 20-30 touches per game and looks disinterested.

Our focus needs to be getting Kane back into form - not dropping him.

This is not mutually exclusive. If we 'rest him' a few games and our form improves, we have the strength to confront Harry and cite how his place with us and England is on the line (world cup year), so get on the green smoothies, sort your head, and get your focus back with us, or Dubai awaits someone else.

Personally I don’t see it. I think that ship has sailed. Can’t see the bald fucker dropping his price and can’t see Citeh upping theirs. Maybe that realisation has hit Kane hence him being so wretched at the minute
But Levy didn’t put a price on him and City didn’t offer one
All rumour
Only fact was that Levy wouldn’t talk to City about it

But I think we’ll do very well to get anywhere near £75 million in January or next Summer

I still think we could get 75 mill if he at least picks it up a bit, which I do expect him to. Because contrary to current popular opinion, whilst he's a player with deficiencies he isn't a pub league player, and he is a tremendous goalscorer .. which yes, is important.

City still badly need a striker. It's obvious every game you watch them play. Unless they have a fantastic chance of getting Haaland in the summer, there aren't many others out there. Kane for 75 mill would still be a no brainer for them.

It's not all doom and gloom for Kane and I don't buy he's past it whatsoever, he's not even in to his thirties. Just needs to focus, keep calm and the goals will come. We've seen bad form from him before. The team isn't exactly helping by being the least creative side in the premier league right now.

"A no brainer"........ Why? .....Cos it'd be a fuckin' bargain; that's why!

I don't quite understand why people are viewing this as if 2 1/2 years left on his contract is not a significant amount of time and that we should just get whatever we can for him.

If signing Kane means winning the league and/or CL; for them he is worth every last penny and MORE.

This is way different to people looking at Zaha's asking price and thinking "Fuck that! .....Wingers are 2-a-penny.....".

Agreed. If you look at their game against PSG, what they lacked most was simply a player in the box to get on the end of balls and be in the right place. Kane would be great for them, they don't necessarily need a mobile, all action striker. And this has been the case for them all season.

Our position might have weakened, but it's still bloody obvious they need a centre forward. If Haaland is a shoe-in for them that's the only way I see them losing interest, but that's one hell of an assumption considering almost every elite club in Europe will be circling over him this summer.

(plus, iirc Raiola hates Guardiola anyway doesn't he? so even less likely they'll be getting his prize client..)

But you continue to pick out Kane, instead of just saying the whole team was dog shit on the night. Including Son. The same Son that's also had plenty of shit games against the "better/bigger teams", just like Harry. But Son signed a new contract recently, so his shit smells like lavender for some people of course.

Any footballer in that situation would say that they are able to play to their manager. The manager makes the final decision, not the player himself. Stop talking absolute bollocks.

Exactly. The numpties here are talking like he's not had slow/poor starts to the season before. He's had plenty for fucks sake. But world-class players always come good sooner rather than later, and is why Kane has always scored 20-30 goals every season, no matter how average we are. It's just unfortunate for us we don't have players that will create for him game after game, like most other top strikers do, so he can score even more than he's always done and will do again no doubt.

It's all very silly. You don't go from what he did last season to being a useless player that quickly, and no I don't want to hear that he only managed that because the side was built round him .. as if any player if made the main man could just be top scorer. Ludicrous idea.
