Nice to get the win and the points. Good effort from most of the players. Still unconvinced by NES. Think what these same players could do under a class manager.....

Are we waiting on another manager to become available and nuno is the stop gap? Poch be gone from psg and then into us?
if poch succeeds at PSG then he is a decent manager and stays. If he fails then he's not up to it and maybe comes back to us. Lose, lose for us really. Don't know how the situation would ever work in our favour. He's taken a massive job with limitless funds. It will be criminal if he doesn't win lots.

are these the same players everyone was saying was shit last week? They are the same people this morning!

Sure they've been underperforming but I don't see them being able to crack the top four, regardless of our manager.

No. Probably not but I could see a close run for 6th. That's about our ceiling with those players. Get in a striker who actually wants to play..... a really aggressive and skillful midfielder with pace (Adama would be perfect).... start Gil most games....always Skipp, never alli.....play Rodon....that could be a solid foundation for a talented young and ambitious manager to start a comeback
Of course it'll never happen because Levy doesn't give a shit. ECL, here we come again.

I don't think Nuno is a long-term solution, but I also don't think a long-term solution is out there.

Potter isn't interested because we look like a bad opportunity right now. Ten Hag would feel similarly. I am not interested in taking a flyer on a guy who has never managed in Europe at the level of continental competition.

I would be very reluctant to see Pochettino back. The club has changed since he was here, and the relationship would not be the same. He can't have the same relationship with Levy, and we cannot afford that situation anyway, as that was also part of the problem. He may have learned from his mistakes, but I think that nostalgia is a poor motive for making big decisions. I'd rather not take that chance.

We also have a squad which is still too fragmented. Too many players either not settled in, or not gone who need to leave. Another 2 transfer windows under the same plan and Sporting Director to build something cohesive and we might be in a much better position, but I think that by that point we would also need a new manager, as I think Nuno's approach does not have long-term potential with us.

I think we need to look at who are the next high-potential managers that we could bring in that would suit our squad after the transition is more complete. I don't think any of them are really ready yet, and we're not ready for them. For now, Nuno may be the best option as a transition point. He gives us a moment to get the team organized into a functioning unit with proper roles, with correct fitness coaching and processes. Once we have those, and have more of the correct players in the squad, we can look to finding someone else with the tactics to push the rehabilitated team up the table.

Pochettino isn’t coming back here unfortunately. I think next summer we will see some major changes across Europe.

My prediction:

Pep goes to PSG - he looks disgruntled at City and will want to win a few CL trophies again before he retires. That club is like a cheat code and he has the experience to make it work there.

Pochettino goes to Man United. They will sack Ole around Christmas, Mike Phelan will stand in as Caretaker until Poch takes the poisoned chalice.

Ole will go and manage Salford City.

I am happy with Nuno. He wasn’t my first choice but he’s willing to learn from his mistakes and the players seem to like him. Give him time, he’s a very talented head coach.

WTF Nuno was your first choice? What evidence do you have that he is a talented coach. Wolves was the longest he lasted in any job and the football was atrocious there most the time. The fact is we were absolutley stupid going with a manager apart from managing in the Premier League I saw no upside from getting him. If Ole goes I can see United bringing in Potter most talented English manger in years.

I think the next summer window will reveal all. All plans went to shit due to Covid. A full season of stadium revenue and there really aren’t any excuses for not going balls deep in positions we need to.
But you have to factor in the loss of CL revenue, CL match day revenue etc - the drop off will cost us £150M. Granted some or all will be offset by stadium revenue increase but will still be down vs say 2019

Net spend will still be frugal
