Some BAAAAD plastic surgey going on there......

We won’t be ever be sold as long levy is in charge. He will always ask for absurd money.
sad thing is we are going to regress now, we can joke about midtable but we will be midtable soon, take away newcastle city and chelsea we cant compete with 3 oil teams not to mention the next tier down man utds liverpool etc. we will be the tier after with the arsenals leicester and everton. its a joke

FUCK

Despite clinging to the belief that FFP will at least slow down the impact the mega money will have at Newcastle, it took City almost five years to become vaguely competitive and that was without far tighter FFP, however in the long term no doubt this puts Newcastle back on the footballing map ...

and what about in the short-term?

Guess who will be first up at St James's Park with 50,000 wildly happy Geordie gobshites going mad - you guessed it that will be SPURS.

Never give up - there are literally dozens of teams who have had huge money and blown it - even in the short life of the EPL Blackburn, Woolwich and now Everton have blown away 100's of millions.

No doubt it will get tougher for all EPL clubs but as our stadium raises our sustainable income we will get closer not further away from the megarich clubs, closer than in fact than we have ever been ... keep the faith.

With so much money available to so many clubs it will all come down to which clubs have the best strategy, best DoF, best networks, best negotiators ...

When just a very few clubs had unlimited funds Utd / Barca / Real Madrid they played the galactico game money was everything you bought success, then along came the upstarts Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, City suddenly money no longer guaranteed success ... now that there are dozens of clubs with huge sums of money it's just getting harder and harder to simply buy success ... it may be that Newcastle have hit the cash jackpot a bit late and that indeed it now takes a lot more than just money to succeed ...

That said - having untold billions, which club wouldn't want that.

its nothing to them i know basially pocket money but its harder convincing mbappe, haaland, oblak etc to move to newcastle then london, they will have to pay alot more per week to convince them to go up there.

even if we are worth 3 bn we are more perfectly set up then newcastle

they wont need to revamp the training ground or the stadium at all so it might be 300 m for newcastle but add it all up for wages and revamping everything they wont be too far off our asking price.
Newcastle don’t have much to revamp, they were the second biggest stadium behind Utd for years….Their fans don’t give a second thought to the bells and whistles, they just want to see top players back at St James Park like the 90’s challenging for trophies again, and this time they will hope to get over the line….
Their fans are gonna love this ride that’s coming their way….Might take a season or two but it’s coming…

Some "best guess" numbers coming out of Newcastle ....

With Ashley spending almost no money over the last two years Newcastle sit with +80m under the FFP three year spending rules (2020 + 2021 + 2022) ... those rules allow for a maximum loss in any three consecutive years of 105m ... so if you add 105m cash to that 80m in the bank then conceivably Newcastle could spend net 185m on transfers in 2022 ... not that much more than Woolwich spent last year.

Will that make a difference, of course it will, but when you consider Man City spent net over 1.1 billion creating their mega squad, and that was a few years ago, you can see how short that would still leave Newcastle from the top teams.

Fair play to Newcastle.

They have ambitious owners who will want to win trophies.

Joe Lewis and Levy are only interested in one thing.

Making Spurs one of Europe's elite top ten clubs? A positive take on the improvements over the last twenty years was that what you were thinking? or was it just hate?

Doubt it but you make a good point - even with untold cash who can they get?

would they get any of these? probably not the good ones ... maybe Brendan Rogers will jump ship but is that really a top drawer appointment?

Conte wanted a project. It would be perfect for him as he would have complete control and unlimited budget.

Spurs wanted to sell some season tickets. That was Conte's last project that he didn't know he was a part of.

:ledley:

Is Leicester one of Europe's top ten elite club too? They have won the prem and the FA cup.

The media having been sucking Newcastle's cock for the last 24 hours are they hoping the owners will share some of their cash with them or something?

Think about it then answer your own question ... see if you agree with everyone else.

Highly unlikely Leicester will ever be a European elite - for numerous reasons - Newcastle have a better chance but that's still somewhere between slim and none.

If you look at Europe's elite group they have broadly similar attributes - wealth, location, stadium and recent history ... Spurs get in by their fingernails ... Leicester probably not so much.

I can see Poch going there in the next year year or two.

Hang on a second, so the richest people on the planet have just bought Newcastle for £305m in a 'deal' that took 18 months but levy wants to sell spurs for £3.5b?

To whom pray tell?

Amazing how Sky were appalled by the ESL, we had that Long speech from Neville etc, nearly crying

They don’t mind human rights abusers buying a club though do they, in fact they’re celebrating it, Newcastle’s games will be on Sky so ITS FINE

Neville ok with stoning women and drowning gays is he? Fair enough
